ricflairandy Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 A few poonts, just back from the game. The freekick at the end for the goal was never a freekick, he was making up for sending scholes off. Scholes should have been booked before the red, he got away with some shockers. The ref let loads of handballs go on both sides, why did the ref give a throw in on the advice of van der sar when the linesmen signaled for a corner late on in the 2n dhalf? the linesmen promptly changed his mind. Time wasting, why didnt he have a word atall during the game? Ronaldo doing one of his tricks and falling over himself = alonso yellow card ????? Kuyt offside in the 2nd half when vidic had his arms fully around kuyt. It wouldnt have been possible to be offside. I could go on, i thought he had a shocker and looked like he was blatently trying to make a name for himself.
lawrie Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 There were a few dodgy decisions, but I thought the ref tried to keep the game moving and did ok overall
psl Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 I thought he did ok and the fact that there's a thread slagging the ref every time we lose is embarassing.
ricflairandy Posted March 3, 2007 Author Posted March 3, 2007 I thought he did ok and the fact that there's a thread slagging the ref every time we lose is embarassing. was it a freekick for the goal? NO! therefore the ref was s***.

From what I saw it was shocking how that decision got given... i need to see a replay before i judge, Who was he by the way? Edited March 3, 2007 by PiGH

Alonso got the yellow card for kicking the ball away. ...and for what it's worth, Man Utd should have had a clear penalty in the Agger/Saha incident. I thought he did ok and the fact that there's a thread slagging the ref every time we lose is embarassing. Amen. Edited March 3, 2007 by oyvmong
ricflairandy Posted March 3, 2007 Author Posted March 3, 2007 well if its just blind slaggong of the referee id like someone to answer the points above please. He was shocking, and was clearly trying to grab the headlines imo.
McBain Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 Ref was fine. Criticising him is low rent and makes you look a bit daft
Guz Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 Blaming the ref after 3 of our players (one of which was holding on) werent able to get the ball off the manc is a bit ott
abc Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 Thought he let the game flow, a couple of dodgy decisions but overall he was pretty good I thought. Pity one of the dodgy calls led to the goal.
Stevie H Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 Alonso got the yellow card for kicking the ball away. ...and for what it's worth, Man Utd should have had a clear penalty in the Agger/Saha incident.Amen. total b******s that is. saha fell over. he was already going down by the time agger arrived.
smicer07 Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 Thought he was incredibly inconsistent with fouls/yellow cards.
lfc003 Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 ref had a good game, should've gave the scum a penalty and when you watch the replay you will see Finnan holding Giggs shirt
CarraLegend Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 I thought he did ok and the fact that there's a thread slagging the ref every time we lose is embarassing. So dont read the threads then you beaut. And is this any worse than you slagging off the players at every opportunity? The ref got stuff wrong so people are going to say so.
anny road Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 i thought they should have had a pen i have to say however Neville should have gone....he books xabi for kicking the ball away and Neville does the same..no booking
Ben 23 Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 To be honest I thought he was better than ok. He had a very good game in my opinion and if you don't think that the free-kick, which they scored from, should've been given - then you need your eyes testing.
Bailo Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 NO way was that a penalty for them. Saha was flying in, lost his footing and HIS leg caught aggers, not the other way around.
Cunny Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 he allowed Scholes to get away with murderbut if you don't take your chances you leave yourself vulnerable to a s***ty freekick award and a kick in the teethfecking John O'Bese!!!!
CarraLegend Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 he allowed Scholes to get away with murderbut if you don't take your chances you leave yourself vulnerable to a s***ty freekick award and a kick in the teethfecking John O'Bese!!!! Agreed
LFCNeil90 Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 it wasn't a free kickbar that he had a pretty good game I thought..could easily have shat out of the red card.
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 thought he did well. It was a charged game & he didn't get intimidated. Should have sent Neville off for the foul on Pennant though. Take a flier the FA will back you if you can justify it. In my books that was serious foul play
psl Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 So dont read the threads then you beaut. And is this any worse than you slagging off the players at every opportunity? The ref got stuff wrong so people are going to say so. I have no idea where you get this idea that I continually slag off the players.
Nebraska Red Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 ref did well, the yellow cards were justified, the red was a bit harsh, I don't think we'd have been happy had it been a Liverpool player. we were lucky not to concede the PK as some refs would have given that in a heartbeat. if you book Alonso for kicking the ball away, why not pieboy for putting the ball in the net a long time after the whistle blew? we cannot blame the ref, he was reasonably fair to both sides.
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 there was no way he could have shat out of the red, Scholes took a swing, it wasn't even raising hands, it was a punch
