Even though he has been s*** for the Hammers, the guy is absolute class and i would take him in a heartbeat.

Dont know about the source though :(

fLiverpool to launch shock Hammers raid

Reports suggest that Liverpool will make a move for West Ham United midfielder Javier Mascherano when the transfer window reopens in January.

The Argentine international arrived at Upton Park on deadline day amid much fanfare in tandem with his international team-mate Carlos Tevez.

However, while striker Tevez has begun to thrive in the Premiership after a slow start, holding player Mascherano has failed to make any sort of impact and is behind the likes of Nigel Reo-Coker and Hayden Mullins in the Hammers' pecking order.

Hammers boss Alan Pardew is keen to retain both players until at least the end of this season, but Mascherano is believed to want an exit as soon as possible.

Liverpool are short of central midfield resources at present, with Momo Sissoko and Bolo Zenden both out of action for several weeks.

Under Fifa rules, Mascherano would not be allowed to make a transfer to Liverpool. However, should the Hammers and the player agree to a termination of his contract, he would be free to move to Anfield.

Impossible. Didn't MSI stipulate something like 80% resale clause in there in exchange for the hammers getting him for 1 mio?

At any rate, I don't think it would be a good idea. Would be impossible to keep four central midfielders of that quality and all fairly young happy, when all of them know they could go to another major club and play more regularly.

Yes. Definitely.

He's a class player. He should be given far more playing time at West Ham.

Hes the type of player that will struggle in a poor side but surrounded by quality players will keep things ticking over, hes very similar to Alonso though personally id take him if we could but im not sure how many games hed play if Xabi is fit.

Marcherano is by far a better ball winner then any of the current midfielders taht we have, YES that includes Momo.

Debatable, I'd say his distribution is better than Momo's though.

sky sports news are reporting that he and tevez are definitely staying at west ham until the end of the season.

pity, as he's just what we need. even a loan deal until the end of the season would do. and you'd think the company who manages them would be desperate to get them out now that they are not taking over the club.

He's a great player, I'd be delighted if we signed him.

Agreed. He would be perfect for Liverpool, who need another midfielder.

Sissoko, Xabi, Gerrard and Mascherano would be just great.
