Everton charged by FA after brawl

Everton have been charged by the Football Association with failing to control their players after an incident in a reserve match against Liverpool.

It relates to a melee involving players from both sides after Liverpool keeper Jerzy Dudek was sent off for his reaction to Victor Anichebe's tackle.

The FA issued the charge after reviewing a video of Everton's 2-1 win.

A statement on Everton's website said they expected Liverpool to receive a similar charge.

"We have been charged with a breach of FA rule E20, which is failure to control our players," said Everton club secretary David Harrison.

"We have until 1 November to reply and we also have the opportunity to request a personal hearing before the commission, should we wish to do so."

Execution i think.

If this was QI, Ronnie, alarms would be going off and the words "Death Sentence" would be flashing behind your head. ;)

I expect Jerzy to get one game additional ban, which means he will be suspended for four first team games (2xReading, Aston Villa + Carling Cup 4th Round or Arsenal)

Anyone know what the punishment is?

5 matches on top of the 3 game ban he has already? That seems unbelievably harsh. Thatcher only got ten games for his assault on Mendes.

Is there a video of this available anywhere? I would really like to see if it was a punch worth a four match ban!
