Dule Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 (edited) Besides Pepe's mistake at the free kick, and 1 second of poor marking for the second goal, we absolutely controlled the game throughout. I honestly cannot believe some of the tripe i am reading about us apparently playing bad today? If Kuyt had of finished his header in the 9th minute, Alonso not hit the post in the first half, Gerrards shot deviated a little left or right, Pennant latched onto the chance in the first half, Riise actually connected the lay off from Pennant, i could go on. If we had just smidgen of luck today, we actually would have taken all 3 points if the assistants did not call offside every 2 seconds and obviously the mistake on Reina also. I just don't understand what game people were watching today. Gerrard, Momo and Alonso absolutely dominated in the middle where i did not see Nolan or Speed touch the ball more then 10 times, i just don't get it. Edited September 30, 2006 by Dule

Bolton would not have scored if the linesman hadnt give them that descision. We looked well on top. Nevermind the fact that faye took out kuyt, and got off scot free.
Dule Posted September 30, 2006 Author Posted September 30, 2006 Dude i just dont understand it. We played some great football today, created great chances, kept the ball 80% of the time and created 6 more chances then they did the whole match in the first half alone. WTF were people watching today when they felt we played s****? P.S I just got home from work and watched the replay, thus the late post.
Maldini Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 We're playing well, we just lack a bit of extra aggression in our play both on and off the ball.
Sion Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 Just like we controlled the game vs SheffU, Everton, Chelsea, and PSV, it's not luck, or rub of the green, it's our inhability to turn pressure into goals.
ricflairandy Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 We're playing well, we just lack a bit of extra aggression in our play both on and off the ball. We need to had a few bungs out.It obviously works for others.
Guest Ant Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 Are you wearing Elton Johns Rose tinted glasses? We were utter garbage
Falconhoof Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 We can play a LOT better (especially Pennant, Kuyt and Bellamy) but we dominated Bolton in the 1st half, could easily have been in front or level pegging going into the second half.
Guest Scot Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 If we played well and lost 2-0 to Bolton we have serious problems
realtarragona Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 (edited) We weren't good at all. There's no positives about us having more possession because Bolton didn't have a problem with us passing it around but not creating much. They just frustrated us and did it very well. Awful decision from the linesman to go behind (not much better from Reina either) but we had plenty of time to get a goal after that and didn't do anywhere near enough. Knox_Harrington Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 Weren't good enough today. Alonso did well and Gerrard offered but Bellamy, Pennant and Sissoko were very poor indeed.
McBain Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 Our last 3 away games have seen us get nothing from games the oppo played poorly in yet won. We need to start stronger and get the first goal. Give ourselves a platform instead of constantly chasing the game and becoming ragged. At the moment it's like 04/05 all over again
Guest Sabre Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 We should start away games the same way we start home games. Dominate the opposition as we are better technically and tactically.
berdoing Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 We weren't the best, but we were better than Bolton and lost. Before anyone goes on about how this is possible, think about it... it happens all the time. Team plays well, other team nicks goal and wins game. It's all about perceptions. The fact is, we didn't win and it's because out inability to score is leaving us exposed to the kind of mistakes that linesmen and goalkeepers can make.
Guest RedLegend Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 Just like we controlled the game vs SheffU, Everton, Chelsea, and PSV, it's not luck, or rub of the green, it's our inhability to turn pressure into goals. And the fact that we're leaking goals like a sieve.
Christine Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 (edited) I?d settle for us playing s*** and wining, not that I think we played well today anyway like, I find the comments of ?controlled the game? as cringe worthy, I don?t think we controlled a thing, the ball wasn't even in play most of the time. We were utter tripe today and the best team won. They battled from the first minute to the last and got the luck they deserved. Bang on about all the "ifs and buts" you want but we just havent been good enough away from home this season

berdoing Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 We weren't tripe. Anyone who says we were is talking tripe. And must now eat it.
Falconhoof Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 We weren't tripe. Anyone who says we were is talking tripe. And must now eat it. and wear it like a suit and rub it into their eyes like contact lenses
Gravy Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 No we didn't. What did we create in the second half? Nothing!! And that with the lions share of possesion. We're fire fighting already.
Cobs Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 and wear it like a suit and rub it into their eyes like contact lensesand buy a cat and call it Tripe
Cunny Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 the fact that the opposition does not have to play particularly well to beat us is really worrying defensively we look all over the shop at crossesand for the amount of possession we have in these games, we are creating relatively little on the plus side, if we can sort it out, we are still not that far behindit seems all the top teams will drop more points this season
John am Rhein Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 I just don't understand what game people were watching today. Gerrard, Momo and Alonso absolutely dominated in the middle where i did not see Nolan or Speed touch the ball more then 10 times, i just don't get it. They award the points to who scores the most goals, not who dominates in the middle. Oldest myth in football this is.
ManxRed Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 We absolutely sucked the big one. Have all the possession you want. If you keep giving the ball away when you get near their penalty area, and let them have two shots and two goals you don't deserve to win anything. We're getting there, but we need to work on a few things first.
