Little Word About Luis Garcia

I thought he was excellent the other night. Some sublime turns, cute little passes, good work around the box and inbetween the lines. That control over his head and shot which hit the post was out of this world and he made himself a number of other decent chances from distance.

He was brilliant. He hardly lost the ball all night. And he was full of tricks and nice touches.

Agree, although after about 15/20 minutes I thought it was going to be one of his frustrating performances. He turned that around quickly, and created a lot of space and opportunity I thought. Gives us that something extra when he's on his game, which in my opinion is becoming more and more frequent. Very unlucky not to score, and the little move to set up Kuyt in the 2nd half was sublime skill

could have been a fantastic goal that...

...a great player to have when at home as he has more space and more options.

Away from home though, we dont have the luxury to have too many balls misplaced. A great squad player, and a fantastic talent on his day

even thought he didn't score a spectacular goal, against newcastle was possibly the most consistant through out a match performance ive seen him play in the prem. Great vision, touches and hardly frustrated and was a constant goal threat.

Keep it up Luis :)

Very similar to his Everton goal last season when he lobbed the keeper after a kick out by Reina

I can't agree. I thought that that game was Luis all over. Some sublime moments (well, 3 on total) mixed with the usual array of shocking decision making. I love seeing him come off the bench, but I'm always nervous when he starts.

Yep, his brilliance is well noted and appreciated. As is his tendency to be gash at the most inopportune moment. Oh well, we still love him.

I understand - some people like what he does, others get frustrated. He's cut out the stupid errors near his own box, and creates so much in the opposition half. That turn away from two to feed a striker was brilliant, no doubt. If that had been Gerrard we would have been creaming. Same with his snatch shots and movement around the box. He did far more than Gerrard did the other night but yet still doesn't get the plaudits.

Thought he was excellent, devastating player to have around the box, his nice cut back for kuyt amidst pressure from three players was of great vision and if kuyt had put that away, I am sure garcia would have drawn more praise. I would love to see him play as a second striker with kuyt, hopefully at least once.

He is by far the most skillfull player on our books. The way he can take the ball down and get in an effort in a flash is superb. I wish he could be a little more consistant and then Rafa would be hard pressed not to pick him. He always looks capable of scoring from nothing and his reaction to loose balls is spot on.

Never had a major problem with Garcia ever

Just don't believe he is the player to be played v the likes of Chelsea, Mancs, Everton away no matter what anyone says the form he produces at home is no were near what he produces away against the minnows i.e Bolton and Everton...

don't undestand your last comment there Ant.

I understand you saying you think he shouldn't start games away from home v's some teams. But whats the second bit about his home form and playing against Bolton and Everton? Don't get that.

I have to say tho, I think the bigger the game / team, the more I want to see him start games! I wish he had played v Chelsea especially (hindsight is great innit :D ), and away in Europe I always want to see him start games. Just think that in an instant he more than anyone, can do something to change a game. And when games are going to be tight, that can be pretty damn handy.

Don't know how people can't like the lad - just watch him today, comes on and grabs two assists to tie the game up.

As I said on another thread, if Gerrard came on with 15 mins to go and made the contribution Garcia did everyone would be falling over themselves to say he's the best player in the world. It's bulls**t!

thought it was great today his reaction to JAR's goal when he went to celebrate it :D The look on his face was like that of a fan, just pure appreciation for a great goal! And he should know! He's top is our Luis, he'll have a part to play in this team for a long time I hope.
