He's mailing all the Liverpool fans in the office THAT photo that's supposed to be Gerrard in a blue***** shirt when he was a kid.

Why worry ?

Mail him a picture of Rooney in a blue shirt.

It is Gerrard, he says so himself in his book.

Honest?

(Not having read his book) I always thought it was his cousin Anthony in the picture, digital trickery or something!

How does he explain it away in the book?

How would his Dad, a fanatical red?, have let him?

He wore a Robson shirt with 7 on the back until his dad b******ed him.

When he was young he wore loads of different shirts and played games for Spurs and other clubs until he settled at Liverpool. He does admit to wearing the Everton shirt too and even going to some matches.

But posing with that club's (admittedly very rare) trophies in that kit?

OUCH!

I'm a bit suprised, if not dissapointed.

From about 7 I was a Red (nothing before I stress) & wouldn't have dreamt of wearing any other team shirt, as I would have thought most fans would have thought.

Perhaps I'm different, but surely I'm not?

Gerrard comes across as the type of person to wear the shirt of a player he admired more than the shirt of a particular club. He basically says that he wore Robson's shirt because he loved Robson, and didn't pay any attention to it being a Manc shirt. He just wore it so he could imagine playing like him.
