My first Goodison derby was actually very recent - the 3-0 win when Harry got his first reds goal (three years ago) - been to several at Anfield, and also Wembley. I had no expectation of getting a ticket for that until Kev sorted me out - and for that I shall always be thankful. I had actually arrnaged to have people staying over on the Saturday night as I had no thought that I might get a ticket - so my guests just had to wait for me in the pub until I got back just in time for last orders. Getting aticket for that game made me determined to try and make every game that season - and that was the season I did every game, home & away, domestic & Europe. In fact I've missed very few games since

Kev - you have a lot to be responsible for!

Don't worry Will, you've repaid the debt several times over ;)

I was at that one, same end, and yes it was - a right dump - shook like buggery whenever the crowd moved forward, backward or at all. Emlyn was ever so pleased to have got two...the 'pitch' was a bit of a ploughed field that day to if I remember right.

I think one of the first I went to was the wonderful Sandy Brown own goal - though it could have been the one where Alex Young sliced a clearance for them at the Gwladys street end and hit the corner of post and bar leaving Gordon West ranting at him in that peculiar whiney voice he had. If that rings any bells with anyone, maybe they can remind me of the date - think it was 65-66?

What was the very first one like murph?

Liverpool won by two clubbings and a pillage to nil. damn - shouldn't have admitted that. Still have my matchday clay tablet.

I am embarassed to say I don't remember for sure......

My first game at Goodison was the FA Cup semi v Man Utd, the 2-2 draw. I think my first Derby there was the 1-0 defeat to stop us breaking the unbeaten run record...we equalled the (then) record at Derby a few days before. Horrible place that was then, I have never seen so many police for an away team, it was worse than going to Millwall around the same time. There was history between Liverpool and Derby police due to the miners. I f I am talking s*** pleae correct me on the politics of the mid/late 80's.

same here, as far back as I can remember.

we were stood in the rain in the Park End.

my abiding memory, apart from the win, is of some ba**ard pi##ing down my leg. I turned and hit him and then realised he was about twice my size. Luckily his mates held him back and I moved away from that apart of the pit.

My Dad told me I went to the Sandy Brown own goal game, but I have no recollection of that game.
