madaboutlfc Posted July 1, 2006 Posted July 1, 2006 didnt think he could do it but hes been awesome in the first half..
Spike Posted July 1, 2006 Posted July 1, 2006 A masterclass and it's how it should be seeing as this may be his last ever game. For that and Cisse I want France to win this match.
DGMO Posted July 1, 2006 Posted July 1, 2006 Absolute legend in the way he's dictated play in the 2nd half. That spinning top in the 72nd minute whilst surrounded by Brazil players had me standing and applauding his genius.
DonRafa Posted July 1, 2006 Posted July 1, 2006 Peerless Zidane! Thats my pick out now - ....but France deserved the win. Their players were hungrier, they wanted it more....and....they have Zidane
madaboutlfc Posted July 1, 2006 Author Posted July 1, 2006 the french looked good.. Zidane ran the show.. shame, did not ever get to see him at Anfield
Paul_LFC Posted July 1, 2006 Posted July 1, 2006 the french looked good.. Zidane ran the show.. shame, did not ever get to see him at Anfield I saw Zidane at Anfield, in Euro 96, when the French played Holland, good game.
Guest Red Mist Posted July 2, 2006 Posted July 2, 2006 He's magnificent. At his peak it was impossible for the opposition to take the ball off him, and yesterday he's shown that he's still got it. He made Ronaldinho, supposedly the best in the world, look totally unworthy of comparasion.
Cooldude Posted July 2, 2006 Posted July 2, 2006 Never seen anyone who's so graceful and elegant on the ball, and makes everything look so simple and effortless Even Ronaldinho can't look that good on the ball.
Rich Gobey Posted July 2, 2006 Posted July 2, 2006 Zidane is like a footballing ninja, the way he uses a challenge on him to his advantage is unlike no other player i have ever seen. to operate so imaculately in a confined space and to turn force against him to his benefit is incredible. Watching the way he rolls around two players trying to sandwich him by purposely bouncing of each of them and using their momentum to take them out of the game is like watching a martial arts expert. genius.
smithdown Posted July 2, 2006 Posted July 2, 2006 Was a bit like watching a Dad joining in a kids game at times. Class, and he seemed to enjoy it more than any other player in the World Cup so far also.
Spoone Posted July 2, 2006 Posted July 2, 2006 (edited) The guy is a legend, and i think enough so to make me want the french to win now. As long as Mr Arrogant Henry can't lay too much claim to the win then i won't mind seeing this man lift the world cup as his final act on a football pitch. Who has ever done that before? Zidane Highlights from yesterday Edited July 2, 2006 by atoone
Guest Anders Honoré Posted July 2, 2006 Posted July 2, 2006 was that freekick his first assist for Henry for les bleus then?
Tosh Posted July 2, 2006 Posted July 2, 2006 Lampard v Zidane.... It could have been the semi final where England were picked to pieces....
Guest Sabre Posted July 2, 2006 Posted July 2, 2006 My favourite player. If I could have an tenth of his talent I would be better than Frank Lampard.
intense enigma Posted July 2, 2006 Posted July 2, 2006 Actually, Zidane's performance so far in this tournament reminded me of Pete Sampras in his last ever US Open before he retired. Looked past it leading up to the World Cup but suddenly turns on the kind of magic that only he is capable of. A real legend and will be missed.
Coyler Posted July 3, 2006 Posted July 3, 2006 That's why I want France to win, stick it right up Le Pen's ass. Make him look a huge, massive c*** (for the second time!!!)Sing it! I look forward immensely to Thuram's classy tearing-apart of Le Pen in an off-the-cuff interview just after the final whistle.
