It's the old fan ego thing mostly - some who don't think the club is being run exactly as they with all their sports-business-media acumen think it should be with hypothetical budgets and to timescales unimpeded by any external red tape and with clubs just lining up to sell us their best players - at once, at our price and first time of asking - think he's responsible for their perceived frustrations, the Titanic sinking, the Hindenberg being flambéd etc. These are usually not in the majority.

Others, with more reasonable and legitimate concerns tend to ask or complain in a more reasonable and legitimate manner - these can be some of the best threads of the lot.

Its visibilty. He's not seen to be doing anything. Probably because of our very laudable way of doing things discretely at LFC. That will give rise to suspicions that he's not working hard enough.

Also because the investment search hasn't borne fruit after a long time, and the new stadium shows no signs of moving on. These are reasonable grounds for concern about Rick Parry.

The main thing is that because of our footballing success people expect administration and business to be of an equally 1st class standard but the 2 don't automatically go together.

Aye. And perhaps he deserves some credit for the recent footballing success.

Nah, sod it. He's got a dodgy barnet. Let's get rid.

But in your first paragraph, you sum up in a contradiction the very problem (perceived) that we suffer from:

'because of our very laudable way of doing things discretely at LFC'

'investment search hasn't borne fruit after a long time, and the new stadium shows no signs of moving on'

Because of the first, it's impossible to state the second with any substantive evidence - we just don't know. As for the Stadium, a good thread the other day filled with scraps of decent info about movement of the Vernon Sangster Sports Club, the Liverpool.tv offices and widening road access showed some progress is being made in readying the site and a few weeks ago I think it was Rushian who said contracts for the work had been firmed up.

You omitted the 1st word when quoting my sentence " Probably because of our very laudable way of doing things discretely at LFC'

By leaving off that word the two statements would be contradictory but thats not what I said.

Its an assumption that nothing is seen to be happening because thats the Liverpool way. That could just as easily be the case if nothing were actually happening.

Thats great for you if it reassures you but i've heard all this sort of stuff too many times over the past few years and need some physical evidence or some statemnt from the club that work is beginning for me to believe the stadium is going ahead.

For what it's worth I'd argue he works too hard.

Without watching what he does, actually being present in his office, i'd find it impossible to argue anything about his workrate.

So the only real gripe is that he has a really bad hair cut and does not answer the ticket office phone. ? :)

Maybe someone should write and tell him.

don't forget the 'facts' that we've lost out in the transfer market due to his ineptitude. and he hasn't actually done anything about getting any investment following our success in istanbul ;)
