haha, yeah i guess we can't go after everyone, and probably kuyt is a safer option, but podolski would have been a bargain at that price... did we really actually bid for villa though?

We need a striker, he had to leave Kologne on the cheap because they are broke... 10M euros for classy 20/21 year old...

 

Sometime I think we lack that little bit of extra ambition, we don't put in bids when we know there's a chance we might lose to another team I think... Just my opinion no inside info...

 

We need a striker and I'd honestly would've preferred him to players like Viduka that are being touted around and wouldnt come much more cheaper... (how mmuch is 10m euros? around 6-7m pounds?)

plus at the minute I think as our strikers were pretty poor last season, i think rafa is after a couple of strikers who are nearer the finished article or very well adapted to the premiership, briging in two potentially fantastic young striker from abroad could go excellent or horribly wrong... and then we all kick off again

 

maybe if we have 2/3 very good strikers here, then you can gamble with a £7m youngster and gradually bring them in but to bring someone like podolski in now and expect him to lead us to the premiership n CL is maaad!
