He was f'ckin brilliant yesterday. He is good in the air, strong, can hold the ball up, is not slow, creates and can score goals as well. That was the player I thought we were getting when we signed Morientes

Ironically Ashton's been pretty poor between those two cup ties.

In the semi vs. Boro Ashton was involved in most if not all of West Ham's scoring chances. He looked miles better in the air than Crouch, for example. He really caught my eye as THE danger man and news of him missing the final sounded good to me...
