Whats the latest on crouch?

Ive been having a look at other "New Manager" threads on other forums, I would say a majority of the posters are all Rafa supporters who are pi**ed off with whats happening at the club, and the names that are being linked as a possible replacement. I want to know where all the fans that wanted him out half way through the season have gone?. They must have better quality replacements in mind who are available to manage us other than the muppets being linked! Are the posters who are saying we shouldnt of got rid of rafa, that are worried now Rafa has left that no one at the club will stand up against them wa*nkers in the board room and try and stop the sales of our best players. Are infact the Rafa bashers who wanted him out, and are now thinking f**k me perhaps that wasnt a good idea after all?. As for my own opinion on new manager i honestly dont know. All I know we are f**ked at the moment and if them yanks dont go we are well and truly f**cked.

I would`nt play Degen at right back not disciplined enough. Carragher has the experience, but up against Modric im not to sure. I would be tempted to play Darby, dont think it will happen though, but he is defensivley better than Degen.

Yes its nice to watch attractive attacking football, but it doesnt always win you games. Arsenal is a good example,probably the best footballing side in the Premiership. Brilliant to watch but havent won a trophy since 2005, are their fans happy? Not really because they want silverware.

Point taken but Rafa had too sell to bring in Torres and Babel. Looking at it now he could of kept Bellamy instead of buying Babel, but at the time Babel was "hot property" wanted by top clubs and was seen as an improvement.

What team would you start with against Spurs on Wednesday? Not sure if Lennon is fit yet, Keane & Defoe played yesterday. Think it will be probably be Crouch & Defoe on Wednesday with our trouble defending set pieces, so do you start with the Greek ?

I don’t think Rafa should go he should have been backed in the summer after finishing second, but obviously the owners dont have the money. Any other club finishing second would have said to their manager, ok what players do you want? we will do our best to get them. But no he had to wheel and deal again to try and strengthen the squad. I think in the summer everyone was on a high thinking right we have come close to winning the league a couple of big name signings, the likes of Tevez, Silva etc and we can really push for the league but it didn’t happen. The pre season games you could almost tell the body language of some of the players wasn’t right, I think they were probably thinking we are in for a long season here, we are a weaker than last season. Plus on that Asia Tour you had Xabi who was leaving the club, Mascherano thinking of leaving the club, Arbeloa and Sammi gone and Stevie left at home for his court appearance. Not the best preparations for the season ahead at all. We start the season at Spurs with injuries to key defenders, and injuries have been a major factor uptill now, its been horrendous. Yes you cant put all the blame on injuries, Rafa has made mistakes as well, I don’t like zonal marking anymore than you do.but that’s what he has coached at all his clubs he has been at, he belives in it, I hate it, but he is the manager, a World Class Manager. Yes I said World Class some of you may laugh, he loves the club, the supporters, but he could of walked away ages ago and I wouldn’t of blamed him if he had. All the talk of Klinsman coming in and all the abuse he has had by the media has been disgraceful, there has been no respect for him at all. Have a look at this fact Fergie`s, and benitez first 5 seasons in charge of there clubs Fergie took over at Utd who had finished 4th in the league 12pts behind Liverpool the season before. 1st season finished 11th 2nd season finished 2nd 3rd season finished 11th 4th season finished 13th won the FA Cup 5th season finished 6th won the Cup Winners Cup They almost sacked him,the rest is history, the yth setup took between 6- 9 yrs before the likes of Giggs arrived. Benitez took over at Liverpool who had also finished 4th in the league the season before but were 30pts behind the winners. 1st season finished 5th won the champions lge, r/up league cup 2nd season finished 3rd won the FA cup Super Cup 3rd season finished 3rd R/up champions lge 4th season finished 4th 5th season finished 2nd Set up the yths 2005 won the Yth FA Cup 2006 & 2007 Currently revamped again in the summer with top quality coaches.
