People who think Alonso is a very good player and felt his abscence was a key factor in our lack of cohesion are now advocating his sale for the sole reason Rafa thinks it's right. You don't sell players like Alonso for 14m. And you most certainly do not sell players like Alonso to fund moves for the likes of Gareth Barry. Well he does not. And it is a disgrace. Liverpool exist to be the best at everything. We have a great deal of talent at our disposal. Reina is the best keeper in the country , Gerrard is the best midfielder and Torres the best striker. With the talent that surrounds and the capability of the manager we should aim to win the league every season. Should we not do that then winning another trophy is the objective , anything less is failure. Before this thread turns into net-spend this and net spend that , I ask was it fair for United fans to expect Ferguson to win the league in 06-07?
