Spending 7m on Pennant and then spending anythin on Downing would really bring his judgement into question. He seems to have a problem when it comes to buying wide players. Obviously he should stay , just an observation.

Crouch can often be erratic but to each their own. And Crouch is certainly worth 15m , infact more than that. Time to start a bidding war.

To be fair Kuyts goal record would imply he's a much better finisher and having seen him infront of goal he most certainly is. He scores typical poachers strikes and is a very good finisher. My problem with Crouch is their is a contract on the table and he's not signed it. He then complains about playing time , while he probably should have had more starts , IMO we've got 2 better strikers than him and at most we can play 2. Also Crouchs workrate has dropped substantially since he joined us and in that regard I'm not surprised hes not started more. He wont sign a contract and his work-rate is not as high as it should be and we've got better players than him. Probably should have played more but as it seems Torres avoids injuries , its best he leaves this summer.

Zanetti's contract is up methinks. Balotelli is also having contractual problems. One positive from us signing Downing would be it would almost confirm Boro's relegation next year and I really hate them.

Thats not the case. Kuyt is more mobile has better movement is better in the air and a superior finisher to Crouch. In Crouchs 6 or 7 seasons in this league his best tally is 12 something that Kuyt equalled in his 1st year. I really dont see how you've come to that conclusion.

Peter Crouch threads always make me laugh. The same people who opposed his signing and were shocked we're going for him for the 7m always always make him into mytholigical striker of PuskasPeleEusebio proportions. In an interview last month Dudek was talking about he was treated in his last season and how Rafa explained he was keeping him because he knew if Carson was on the bench people would always talk about how he'd do better or should be playing more. Rafa knows. Also Kuyt and Torres are significantly better players than Crouch so he should not have had more games.
