Yeah, logic points to them cutting their losses before the summer, rather than risk millions on players his replacement won't want. However, I think (or maybe hope) they'll look at what happened with Ferguson and think he can repeat what he did. We can only pray for more hubris I guess, from all parties concerned.

Who knows ? It's not beyond belief that Ferguson shores up his confidence by telling Moyes what he wants to hear, who then just goes and repeats it publicly. It can't get too much worse now, expectations are that low and I still think he'll get backed in the summer window and till Xmas this year. If they're not top four by then, he's gone.

So, the loss in the Cup at Arsenal, the goals conceded against WBA, Swansea and now Cardiff (to name a few), all showed the problem of counting on Gerrard as the de-facto defensive shield ? Crikey, he's not perfect by any stretch but that is utter bobbins. Just using the Cardiff game as an example, the whole team had a 'mare in that first half, particularly Allen and Flanagan. Whom Gerrard spent most of the 1st half trying to baby-sit.

Me neither, never during the game anyway. It's like at gigs where you see some bell-ends spending more time on their bl**dy phones than they do experiencing the event.
