Riise does have the pace to play left back, it's his positioning and reading of the game that lets him down. No matter how quick you are you can't give people half a yard and expect to catch up. Slow players who can anticipate what will happen can make up for a lack of pace-look at Henchoz and De Zeeuw at Wigan. I am not one of Johnny Boy's biggest fans but Rafa obviously rates him and perhaps now he has a new contract he can focus and improve his game.

I was at the match and they watered both ends down our left at the Stretford End and down the right at the Scoreboard. So a nothing story really.

That's why they play for pub teams. I know plenty of amateur players who are better with their weak foot than Riise is.

Leeds team from a few seasons back...
Scally Bob replied to Sir Tokyo Sexwale 's topic in General Football Discussion
I know the Insolvency Practitioners who worked with Leeds before it went wrong and after. They also worked with the people who eventually took over. Simple bad mangement and stupid errors of judgement. If you earned a fixed amount each month but in one month you got a bonus equal to three months' normal monthly income, would you budget based on that abnormal month? That's all Ridsdale did. But the income dried up and he still had to pay the bills. Cue securitising season tickets and failing to meet payments as they fell due. Part of the problem was though that he vastly overpaid for players who would never have a resale value and put them on ridiculous contracts. Seth Johnson was the classic case. The glue that held all this failure together was O'Leary, who is an idiot. If it's any consolation though, Danny Mills is still waiting for £2m they owe him. -
Like Hyypia, Kewell and Zenden for example? Johnny Boy gets himself into good positions going forward and only needs to perform a basic pass with his right but he can't do it. It's embarrassing and he should work on it. Not only that it can mean losing possession in dangerous areas. He's playing for Liverpool, not some pub team.

Or because you look like a public schoolboy. Didn't you wear a cravat in Seville?

This is very dangerous at the best of times but they are mad as cut snakes just now because their team is so sheeite. They are snides as well. They will be looking out for away fans and you run the risk of getting your head kicked in if you go to the bogs or whatever. Or they might get you outside. Or they might just attack you then get a steward to throw you out. They really are horrible cvnts. I have done it in years gone by but never again.

I know of Whelan through other people. He's a complete b*****d. His son was driven nuts (literally) by the way he treated him and his son-in-law (who was responsible for finances) killed himself when JJB's profits weren't doing well. His quotes are stupid. And xenophobic. Anyone English, even Pearce who was an alehouse footballer and has no experience. He should mind his own business but he's not used to people failing to agree with him.

If you remember the farcical way tickets for the semi were sold you might think otherwise. Whoppers who'd only been twice queueing next to people with ten credits.

Could somebody please point me in the right direction...
Scally Bob replied to Mad_Fer_It's topic in Liverpool FC
Fair enough but that's done properly. And if someone had to move away for work or whatever I can understand it-the Club certainly wouldn't give a refund! But what about all these who "rent" them out. Why won't they let go? And really people who have taken the trouble to go onto the waiting list should get a chance rather than somebody who just dropped lucky. -

It's been done to death but the real problem lies in the fact that so many season tickets aren't used by the people to whom they are registered. If somebody wants to stop going they should give the ticket up and let it be allocated to the next on the list. Two lads behind me have two seats but they aren't in their names. They probably attend 60% of games and the other games there can be anyone-or often nobody-in their seats. They didn't turn up, for example, last New Years Day against the Chavs (been on the ale, couldn't get out of bed) yet there would have been plenty who would have loved those seats. The Club doesn't care but it should. I can't understand why people keep the tickets when they have given up going the match, especially now that without credits on your fancard the lazy turn-up-for-big-matches STH has been rumbled. Are they waiting for the "good times" to come back? God help us if that's the case-people who haven't been for years just returning because they expect us to win every week! It clearly says on your ST that they aren't transferrable. If the Club had a purge on this it would free up loads and it would discourage people from doing it in the future. -
Mine has two tear-off tabs, one for adult, one for child. Mine's an adult ticket (at 48 you tend to get sussed trying it on). Sounds to me like they've torn off the bit they should have left on the child ticket.

For now. Fat Freddie was buying up shares last week and it's rumoured he wants to take the club private again. He won't be doing it for the benefit of the club. If he launches a takeover then does a sale and leaseback on the ground he could easily take a wad of cash out. Would you bet against it. Newcastle are a joke and their idiot fans (who believe their own publicity) are a joke as well.

Not quite, or it would be the Echo Cathedral. Once and for ever can we get this straight, the World Series is called that because a newspaper called The World sposored it. The fact that the reporting in it probably never covered anything that went on more than ten miles from their office is incidental. Yanks can be introspective and often lack knowledge of other cultures (e.g. football) but on this one it's not the case.

I was at the ticket office at 8.45 this morning and thought I'd turned up on the wrong day. There wasn't a soul to be seen. And three windows open! This will go to general I suspect.

That save from Mido just after we'd scored showed that he has great concentration: Dudek or James would have still been celebrating mentally. He commands his area-would you get in his way? And his handling on crosses is already very good even though La Liga doesn't see as many crosses that 'keepers get challenged on. He's steady and doesn't panic. His distribution is getting better. What more do you want? And anyone who goes on about the first Bolton goal needs certifying.

Several players today didn't perform as well as we know they can but because the team works as a unit we can accommodate one or two below-par showings. The workrate was phenomenal. We won as a team today, Rafa must be made up. I think Spurs are the best footballing side to have visited Anfield this season and Jol deserves credit for what he's done there. Tactically they were good and they rarely gave the ball away-I think that's why we seemed to be playing out time towards the end. I was impressed with Mido, Carrick and Dawson. If you go back a year or two the recent run of games would have had us all saying we can win eight out of eleven or something but we'd have W4, D4, L3 or something. I am confident about going to Old Toilet next wek as I genuinely believe we can win there. And the upcoming games will show the real progress we have made and hopefully shut up the blerts who say we had a good run because we were playing poor teams. What a pleasure it is again going the match. If only the Bitters had lost it would have been a perfect set of results.

It was one of those where they both got a bit tangled. Kewell's first touch wasn't great but it was a foul and as last man he had to go.

Anyone got a link to Ferguson losing it when
Scally Bob replied to Scally Bob 's topic in General Football Discussion
I agree, but his lack of dignity shone through. Dead funny. -
Don't know if many saw this but on the tea-time news last night they were going on about the honours we didn't get then showed a clip of Slur Alaxative at a Mancs press conference. Evra was sitting next to him. Anyway somebody asked him what his thoughts on the matter were. His face went purple (or should that be purpler) and he looked incredulous. He blurted out "Isn't this a Manchester United conference?" and just ignored the question. He was clearly riled and his classless bitter reaction was a joy to behold. Anyone got a link?
-
How we laughed at that! This from someone who follows a team that has only scored about nine goals this season between all of them and the Golden Goal winning ticket was November.

I think I heard somebody with a rather fat head on the radio saying he would play against us.
