Every country has an obsessed media. Are you suggesting that France, Italy Argentina, Russia and Holland have no right to call themselves top international teams too. As they're not on your little list of 'bona fide' contenders. Or do you just mean 'top 3'?

I seem to remember we loaned Steve Statunton to Villa for about 12 years. That didn't work out so well either.

I suppose that we might have decided that if we couldn't get the midfielder we wanted then there was no point getting a cheap, s*** one which meant we would only be left enough money to buy a cheap, s*** central defender.
