  1. well i watched it and it was excellent, as mentioned above...highlights from our euro game and the full west game, plus interviews... goltv - i love ya
  2. on gol tv in the usa tonight at 12am(central time) Never heard of this mentioned before..
  3. no ynwa has become part of our club.. money is not important in some aspects
  4. c`mon we can give them legendary hard man diao in exchange....get him to shave his head and his beard, send tapes of sissoko and bang....theres ya deal
  5. funny how certain shirts remind you of certain players.... the one above i always connect with jan molby.
  6. if he was good enough,he`d still be at anfield.. very rarely do players who go out on loan come back and build a successful first team career at liverpool, especially the case for foreigners..
  7. if it happened to us,we`d all be moaning...no doubt. But there ya go....i thought it was a pen, yet if it was the same situation with a sheff utd player...Never a pen.... These things even out ya know
  8. thought it was a decent result to be honest... first premiership game of the season, away at a newly promoted side who of course are gonna be well up for it... Not to mention the fact that within the first 30mins, we lose carra and riise...which meant a reshuffle, Hyypia moved across to center bk right, aurillo to left back... Yet other than the goal, we were not really troubled at the back, Agger was a major plus, Aurillo looked good(apart from the goal where he lost his man, but that will come with learning our system...) Sissoko and zenden were fairly quiet, gerrard did ok, fowler and bellamy worked quite well, Gonzalez got better as the game went on... only real poor player for me was krompkamp who looks on a different wave-ength to the rest of the side.. 1-1 away from home, 2 injuries, players rested for the midweek champs league game.. Good result as far as im concerned.
  9. wooohooo just had my direct tv installed! now i have tons of espn channels, GOLTV, Fox Football channel, SENTANA sports and tons of dodgy south american Football channels.. gettin...also works out cheaper than cable!! my wife is gonna hate me! hold on didnt i just type in the word "S occer" and it came up as "football" instead...... something dodgy going on in the world of the YNWA forum!!!
  10. .....while on england duty. Bet West Ham are pleased... in other news, Michael Essein played with a broken wrist through sundays game against us mighty reds...and says he will continue to play through the pain...awwww isnt he tough, try playing a couple of weeks after nearly losing ya sight!..... you knooooooooooooooooow when you`ve been momoed...
  11. didnt worry me to be honest.. firstly, hypia generally hasnt had the best of times against drogba.....so agger comes in, someone who has a bit more pace and is stronger on the ball, drgoba didnt get a sniff.. finnan and riise full bks, reliable...no probs there. Zenden and sissoko...well zenden was there to pick up the pieces and play it simple with sissoko racing around breaking up all of chelseas plays... also garcia sat in deep, didnt look like he did a whole lot....but it broke down many chelsea attacks as many times they ended up 2 against 3 in center mid. Pennant and gonzales on the wings to stretch out the chelsea midfield.. and crouch alone up front to hold the ball up and wait for pace on the wings as an outlet.. so , no.......i didnt think WTF when i saw the line up...
  12. also generally hyypia has had a nightmare dealing with drogba... today agger had him in his pocket an drgoba hardly had a sniff.......another battle won by benitez in regards to tactics.
  13. maybe thats why he is so injury prone, loved his energy...might need to learn to hold off just a little, or i can see him continuing to pick up regular injuries.
  14. jeeez stupid thread... moaning at our fans for an "eassssy easssy" chant???!!? big fecking deal.....and yes maybe today included many fans who normally wouldnt have been able to get tickets like the so called"real" fans We had fantastic support today unlike the pathetic chelsea fans.....lets give our fans credit for making the effort to turn up instead of moaning about the particular chants they were singing. hardly, chelseas support was embarrasing.
  15. disagree to be honest, think its more down to the fact that Cech wasnt in goal.....a goalie who dominates and has a far better understanding with his defence than cudicini.
  16. suprised theres no stand alone thread for his brief appearance today... Really stood out, showed great energy with fantastic vision for the pass to bellamy....also has a mean left foot. Im liking the look of him, not afriad to get stuck in either.. possibilities.....
  17. Reina - 7 Finnan - 7 Carragher - 7 Agger - 7 Riise - 7 Pennant - 6 Sissoko - 9 Zenden - 7 M Gonzalez - 5.5 Luis Garcia - 6 Crouch - 6 Gerrard - 6 Alonso - 7 Bellamy - 8 Aurelio - 7.5
  18. craig johnston
  19. outa interest, was fowlers book serialised and if so...which paper? also if it came out that all profits would go to the HJC from the gerrard-notw....wouldnt that be a good thing??? Cos Gerrard is surely not stupid enough to realise that this news would deeply offend many liverpool fans. highly suprised if money is the motivation for the book.....more for his image and world wide brand of his name to get more exposure.
  20. well the original poster is correct, its not a matter of comparing mcmanaman or pennant to the greats of old....but that we havent really replaced macca since he left, we have certainly tried with smicer and kewell but neither have truly been a success.. So possibly we might have finally found a proper replacement...give it 12months time and we shall have a better idea.. and for the record.......i thought macca was fantastic for us in his time at anfield and certainly in our top 10 list of greatest wingers.. Cant believe the hard time he still gets, when the club tried to push him out for a move to barca.
  21. http://esoccerusa.com/store.htm thats the store i bought from, austin,tx ive done some reasearch and it seems these particular stores are only in austin,tx But im sure if a little shop like this has the shirts....than various other soccer stores across the states will have the shirts too. it was about $55 with tax....... and if you want to buy the shorts....they had both home and away..that will set you back $40!
  22. Well its a weird one, cos you definetly see more comercials/billboard etc for Adidas in the states, yet because of the NFL it maybe makes sales of Reebok larger. Ie....Reeboks marketing in the states was based soley on the NFL...Reebok makes the shirts for the majority of teams.
  23. so for years ive very rarely been able to find anything liverpool related in any of the "soccer" stores here in the states, all these stores would be filled with mancs, chelsea and arsenal gear.....with the most you can expect from liverpool..a badge. But it seems the Adidas effect is already taking place.. Went into the local "soccer store"......lots of these places all over the states, and found not only the brand new liverpool top...but new scarfs, dvds, banners, etc, etc I asked the guy behind the counter and he said that from ordering 25 new shirts through Adidas they also gave the extra items as a promotion and would continue to do so depending on sales of the shirt. I always liked Reeboks design of shirts, but in regardless to marketing and stocking their gear in the states, it was awful. So i picked up a brand new shirt for $50 yesterday!
