well with the way our defence is playing, i see no need in rushing him back... Why change the two center backs who have only conceded 1 goal in 6 games.

Really has been excellent since coming in for agger, lets be honest many on here didnt think he would able to play this many games in a row and actually keep a strong level of consistency... At the moment, sami really is undroppable and has been a monumental success in our excellent run. Thank god we didnt let him go in the summer... oops didnt see the other thread....feel free to delete mods

yossi has really suprised me, i knew he was a decent player.....didnt realise he had alot more to his game.. AND...Riise had a decent game apart from that crazy shot from 60 yards in the 2nd half

indeed kewell played really well........seemed to tire at the end of the first half...not sure if he got a knock or not. But to have someone who can actually beat players and put in a decent cross makes such a difference....

(of course the title should say "difference") last season and previous...gerrard was our only true match winner....but now with torres it really makes such a difference.. both again..were exceptional today and really make the difference when the game isnt quite going our way(we were sloppy for about 25mins after we scored)....that 2nd goal by torres..reminded me of a souness pass through the rush......was an exceptional goal.. so many plus points today....we made it look so easy.. also babel is slowly turning into an important figure and certainiy has great instincts for being in the right place at the right time.. finally..special word mention for lucas who was exceptional today......

i agree with the original post....and really playing gerrard and mash in the middle is made far more important by who is out wide.. against porto, masch was struglling at times as he was the only midfielder up against 3 in the portos middle...this due to gerrard being stuck forward, plus benyoun and babel not really that good at tracking back.. the solution for me is still simple. gerrard---masch---lucas/alonso---kewell That is by far our best midfield....it also gives gerrard the freedom he craves on the right, he may not like it....but it is the way forward for me

thought we were decent first 20mins.....then went to sleep and was sloppy for the rest of the first half, and first 30mins of the 2nd.... Ive seen us play far better and get beaten....so for us to win 4-1 while playing pretty poorly, to me...shows good signs for the future.

a little side note..... Rafa definetly needs to read up on the rules regarding how to make substitutions...since pakos gone, rafa seems to have had problems this season with getting the changes done "officially"....noticed a few times... and if andy gray or martin tyler are interested in this brand new special dig at rafa...feel free to contact me. The good stuff regarding the subs......fantastic choices he made. Also souness....feck off, you dont rate mascharano!! pathetic!

maybe it shows how strong we are now....we played poorly tonight yet ended up winning 4-1. We certainly looked nervous and edgy maybe no suprise due to the issues behind the scenes this past week... Torres was again superb, kewell and crouch made a massive difference when they came on... So it all comes down to the final game...easy, we win...we are through..simple as that.

like the "justice for the 96" from the arsenal game.....it came across as insanly loud on tv, thats what needs to happen wed.. "Rafael Benitez..........." needs to be sung, non-stop for the first 10minutes..The game is live on tv in the usa....hicks and gillett will definetly get the point

for ya info, the game is live on tv in the states...where i presume hicks and gillette will be watching(and if they are not watching...well that just wouldnt be right, would it) so they should get the message loud and clear......

well gerrard when attacking, was excellent first half.. shifted to a defensive midfielder 2nd...and he was awful.. though honestly, im happy that he will get a good summers rest.......cos for me, liverpool comes first, im really not that bothered by england.

the last time we were actually exciting to watch......im afraid to say, week in, week out you couldnt say we were not entertaining... now we`ve had fantastic moments since then....but its been offset by a general boredom from watching us every week.
