  1. gerrard is the best crosser of a ball at the club is our best right midfielder at the club can beat players can shoot we have many center mids who can do an excellent job in the middle ...we dont have many who can do the same on the right
  2. hey if we had owners that would spend the money, then that wouldnt be an issue..
  3. seeing as we are throwing names about...james milner still only 21(seems like hes been around for ever)...quality player, and id say hes far better than pennant, plus he scores goals.
  4. agreed, without lampard, drogba and terry.....not to mention the recent cech injury....their squad is poor considering what they have spent.
  5. and id never swap iniesta for gerrard....but still believe that gerrard is best suited on our right hand side, we have a far better balance...as he provides the "team" and thats the important thing....so much more.
  6. im not saying hes been s***...im saying his level has dropped off alot since our 2005 season......he was fantastic up till then. Last season and this...hes looked a bit of a liability at the back....im just being honest and i know many wont agree, have been thinking this for awhile and needed to get it off my chest.
  7. you seriously think carra has been fantastic the past year and a half?
  8. bet ya 50quid anelka will end up leaving...chelsea in the summer.
  9. ok so i know this a dangerous thread and i`ll likely get destroyed.. Still i cant help but feel that week in, week out Jamie Carragher is not a good enough center back for us to be challenging for the title, he shows fantastic passion...but is being weak in the air, no pace and horrible distribution enough for a side looking to win the premiership? Hes been brilliant for us these past few years, yet i feel we have to make that step up.....last season he was poor, this season the same...both agger last and hyypia this season seemed to have carried him (regardless of carra barking at everyone else) please dont take this wrong a i love carra and he represents everything we love about liverpool F.C...but fact of the matter is that he isnt quite at the level we HAVE to be. Now Gerrard - wonderful player...but are we suffering a bit from the "Henry-syndrome" as Arsenal did last season..... Im not saying to sell the guy...just your opinion regarding is he far too influentual on the pitch, that like the fans...our players expect that he`ll be the one to take the reins...and so dont feel the pressure, a great captain not only steps up when needed but influences those around him....no doubt about the first part, just not sure about the 2nd..
  10. strange timing this thread, considering he looked pretty good against city....of course hes not match fit yet.....lets have a bit of patience hes been out injured for a year...well you could say 4 years if ya like
  11. everyone has to remember owen would be on huge wages.....surely not worth the gamble considering how injury prone he is...Dean Ashton or even Baptista from Real Madrid(who was excellent in the copa america and is now showing his worth for madrid) a better buy in my opinion
  12. Reina easy.....
  13. im being completely honest here, but a gerrard and carra partnership at the back fills me with more confidence than once with hobbs in it.. Gerrard has been fantastic in every position hes played for us.....i doubt city will be hitting it in the air much...in which case, gerrard and carra are good enough to take on their strikers on the floor.. We have more than enough cover in midfield
  14. dont think hobbs is ready for this game at all....hes looked far from convincing in the times we have seen him.. would much rather Arbeloa...... -------------reina----------------- finnan----carra--arbeloa---aurellio- -------------masch---------------- gerrard-----alonso---------riise---- -----------------babel--------------- --------------torres------------------ play deep and hit city on the break with the pace of both babel and torres ....masch to the win the ball, plays it to alonso...long ball through to torres or babel and goal... Mash wins it....plays it wide to gerrard, cross field pass to torres or babel....goal. Mash wins it...plays it to Riise.....................................your job to expand on what happens next
  15. yup i first mentioned this awhile bk......looks like an awesome player, might need to learn how to pass though which is why im guessing he isnt in the spurs side..saying that, if i was as good as him and was playing in that s**** spurs side.. i wouldnt pass either still id like to see us make a sneaky bid in january......
  16. arbeloa definetly, its his prefered position...plus i see the center back position to be his future with us.......possibly taking over from carra in the coming years..
  17. its simple really.. rafa is the manager for the champs league and domestic cup games jose for the premiership.. 2 managers and a whole lotta sense
  18. ----------------reina-------------- arbeloa---carra--hyypia---aurillo- ----------------------------------- gerrard-masch-alonso-kewell---- -------torres---kuyt---------------
  19. beating roma in....rome for the euro cup 84 shall always be our greatest away performance anyway in regards to overall play....well i thought we were pretty good tonight, though marseille were pretty pants..lets be honest, still nothing to take away from our guys who did a great job.. Another great away performance, Roma again when owen got 2......Barca last season was also excellent.
  20. and what about torres and what about babel got 3 serious matchwinners on how hands here!!! oh and kewell is back.......4 serious top drawer players... And yes Gerrard is playing his best footy since 2005 good times......dont fool around too much at the weekend Rafa! lets see(if possible) the same side.
  21. gerrard kuyt torres

  23. maradona was small but yes he had a ton of strength.... Juniniho is maybe a better example of someone small in stature and with little muscle who of course...did pretty well for himself. And lets not forget our own sammy lee
  24. ------------reina------------ arbeloa-carra--hyypia-riise ----------------------------- benny-gerr--masch-kewell ---------torres-kuyt--------
