  1. Heard it here first, we're signing Messi's mum.
  2. Just a thought. To those people who say we don't need cover and are in need of a left winger badly can I just say that our first team seems to be alright. It's when we get a couple of injuries we tend to struggle. I mean we did do the double over the Mancs and Chelsea. That would prove we have a quality first team, but we struggle over the entire season. Also we don't need to wait to qualify for champs league this year as we have automatically qualified.
  3. If Rafa stopped rotating he could have similar results to Paisley. Yet they have the same win percentage at Anfield. Also Paisley playing a consistent team lost only 4 times in the league, while Rafa's rotating has racked up a massive amounts of losses this year, 2.
  4. It's worth remebering we were coming 1st last year until Agger got injured. Similar to Skrtel getting injured except this time we didn't have to wait till January to get a new defender.
  5. But he has a poor first touch. He was trying to trap it for the first goal.
  6. It's funny how when we win working hard is an attribute you all rate highly when you judge the game they had but when we lose, "need more than just hard work, who cares if he worked hard he doesn't contribute anything more".
  7. I think the main reason Rafa wants Barry is because he is looking for constant movement without the ball. Everyone moving constatnly while they don't have the ball in attack makes for a very effective attack. With Xabi he doesn't really move a lot. He looks for the ball constantly but just kind of sits there. Makes for a lot easy marking. Not saying Alonso isn't a good player. Far from it, I think Xabi is a brilliant player and is a key member of our squad but I think Rafa just wants to play a certain way in attack and Xabi can't fill that role as effectively as Barry could. Also why doe's everyone think Xabi has lost form or that he has been ineffective for the last 2 years? Just cause he doesn't go for the 50000 metre hollywood balls that you all love doesn't mean he isn't effective. Keeps play ticking over, always gives a passing option and keeps possesion well. That sounds like a decent centre mid to me.
  8. A piece all Liverpool fans and pundits should read before slating Rafa. You can see now why he left Valencia. In order do create something special.
  9. Nice little Gem that I found in the F365 mailbox: http://www.football365.com/mailbox/story/0...3806453,00.html "Dear sir - excellent site as always. I've been keeping tabs on the rumoured transfer gossip as I always do. Being a Liverpool fan, am always keen to keep a more attentive ear to the ground. I've been slightly disillusioned with how things will pan out this pre-season with who we've signed and the rumour mill wielding its spin with who else we may (or probably won't) get. Well I was until this morning. I went to pick up my mum from John Lennon airport this morning when I saw a man holding a placard with the name "Drogba". I didn't think too much of it, until I saw the very man Didier Drogba approaching the man with said placard. I sidled a little closer to get within touching distance of the pair of them (I was half thinking of asking him for an autograph), when I heard the (apparent driver) say to him, "You ready for your trip to Anfield Mr Drogba". Stunned by this, I missed the opportunity to ask for the autograph (I probably looked like some idiot stood there with my jaw agape thinking of the implications of this seemingly innocuous sentence). Given the fact that Drogba wants out, given the fact that Liverpool want a new striker, and given what I saw this morning, it can surely only be one thing behind this. So I'm currently toying with the idea that I may have to start liking this man over the coming months."
  10. Don't post on here often, more of a lurker that is rather interested to see who we sign in the summer (or winter in Australia). But according to F365 one of our rumoured targets is Dejan Stankovic. Possibly the guy with an impressive CV now nearing the twighlight of his career, eh? http://www.football365.com/story/0,17033,8...3588666,00.html
  11. Alonso is an integral part of our squad. Look at our form once he came back from injury. You may not notice it but does a lot of work and just plays it simple. Something you want in your centre mid, especially if he's anchoring the defence.
  12. Is it just me but the season we used him mainly on the right, wasn't that one of our best years in premier league for a long while. Maybe we should explore using him there again. Just a thought.
  13. Are you arguing for Rafa or against Rafa. Yeh any good manager could do well with proper fund therefore Rafa's a good manager and why would we want to sack him?
  14. If we had good wingers Alonso would be gold. He was spraying those balls out to the wingers all day against Wigan. But they can't do anything with the ball. Also space would open up in the middle and he would have more to work with there.
  15. Also we most of the possesion in a lot of the games we play so better attacking players could use it better.
