i love carra, but for the past 2 seasons hes been poor on a consistent basis in the league, for the massive champs league games he steps up... but we need consistenty and for me...hyypia was far better than carra last season. Agger and skrtel to start, hyypia and carra as more than capable back ups.

errrr yeah you can.. Reina - definete Dossena - rafa has already said hes first choice agger - we all know how good he is and how important he is to our formation masch - definete gerrard - definete torres - definete keane and barry - well you dont pay the money we have paid for keane and possibly for barry for players who are not going to start the majority of league games. id also add that all the above(except maybe Reina in chelseas case and dossena, we shall see) would WALK into either arsenal, the mancs or chelseas teams.

well you can assume when fit.....reina,agger,dossena,masch,gerrard,keane,torres and barryif he signs) are all certain starters

im talking about his real first choice 11 one that is built on foundations to win the premiership , we saw how important it was keeping a consistent side after christmas last season..... -----------------reina---------------- deggen----agger-skrtel----dossena ----------------masch---------------- --kuyt---------gerrard--------barry---- ------------------keane--------------- ------------------torres--------------- with the width coming from both full backs....lots of goals in that side, good defensive cover, kuyt and barry will provide excellent cover for both attacking full backs and both give 100%every game and can of course get forward and get you goals.......they are also both superb crossers of the ball. Of course it means us actually landing barry, if so then i reckon we might see Carra slowly being moved to the bench.......this will give us the higher line at the back..so important for the above formation. If Carra starts, i see us more as a straight forward 4-4-2 with babel/another winger on the left.

87-88 we played some unbelievable football that season...in fact id say it was the best liverpool side ever, it had everything...

IF alonso isnt leaving then i see no point pursing Barry..at this point in time, especially for the crazy money being asked.. It seems to me, we have switched all intentions into getting robbie keane with that same amount of cash..........does anyone seriously think we are going to pay out 36 -38million for both Barry and Keane?? i just cant see it... hopefully ive now put the mockers on and we sign both tomorrow...though i doubt it

Darren Huckerby - Soccer Legend
floyd the barber replied to meepins 's topic in General Football Discussion
really have gotta feel a slight bit of sympathy for some true great players who never made the money...and we are talking only 10-15 years ago.. now average players like huckerby are millionaires -

--------------reina------------ degen--agger--skrtel-dossena -------------masch------------ ----kuyt----gerrard--barry---- -----------keane-------------- --------------torres------------ im not so sure we are going to play with wingers consistently, judging by Rafs coments about liking both our new full backs as attacking and being able to get quality crosses into the box... I think ideally(and yes all managers have a prefered first 11)...his plan is something like the above(of course we know he wants barry and keane, 2 sure to be first choice players), and lets not forget if Rafa does play agger and skrtel at the back, we shall be pused a good 20 yards forward from what we saw last season

personally feel that Aurelio isnt as good as some are making out to be...the times i saw him last season...he was slow, weak in the tackle and seemed to struggle overall with his game.. His free kicks, yes they look nice but lack the sort of power to test any semi-decent keeper...(i dont believe he has scored from one yet)....he has scored one nice goal from open play.. sorry just dont rate him.

i remember hearing rumours about this is in jan...

Can anyone challenge the top 4 this forthcoming season?
floyd the barber replied to Sion 's topic in General Football Discussion
the top 5 will be.. mancs chelsea liverpool arsenal spurs Think the gap will be closer between those 5...still think it`ll be in the above order -
so..judging by Rafs coments on Degen

If we want to progress and go up to the next level...i seriously think it needs to happen. Pains me to say it as..like all of us, love carra......but consistently week in-week out...we really need a step up, more pace..better distrubution But saying all of that, Agger hasnt kicked a ball in 9 months.....we have no clue as to how long/ or if he will ever recover the form he showed before. -
Are we too possibly see a slightly different formation this coming season...interesting how Rafa states his strength is offensive and will improve us in the wide areas... ------------------------reina---------------------- ------------skrtel---------------agger------------- degen------------------------------------dossena ---------------masch------barry------------------ -----kuyt-------------------------downing/babel/?- --------------------gerrard------------------------ ---------------------torres------------------------- This with the reliance of Agger being back and us having more pace, this can allow the back line to push up more..with especially the full backs able to get forward, i also see it highly likely kuyt will remain right side....his boundless energy..perfect to cope with the rampaging runs forward from Degen. I can it being a season of big change at the back(obviously)...with jamie carragher possibly shifting into being more of a squad man...with him in the side, theres no way we would be able to play with 2 attacking full backs and keep a high line. Looking at the above, thats a friggin good side......not sure about our left and i hope we do get someone better than downing, though he is a fantastic crosser of the ball something we have lacked, for me gerrard and finnan provide excellent crosses..with the rest of the squad being far behind.
-
think robbie keane has been class at all the clubs hes played for.....still fairly young(27 i believe) and with plenty of experience...would make a fantastic link man.
-

unlike a few pundits... i feel hes had a better tournament than his goals suggest.....certainly villas hat-trick was with great help from fernando... One goal to his name...and he could`ve had a few more in the semi final had it not been for some bad luck and good goalkeeping.. tomorrow though with David Villa out it means its time for Fernando to take center stage, i reckon he`ll do that and it wouldnt suprise me if he got the winning goal...(it also wouldnt suprise me if he was taken off after 60mins ) Anyway good luck Fernando the mighty reds are right behind you.. also lets not forget Reina, alonso and Arbeloa...im sure if they play their part they wont let anybody down! Go Spain...........................c`monnnnnnnnn

we could act like liverpool fans are ,apprently are supposed to do, and give some respect for a player that has given fantastic service for the past 6-7 years.... mcmanaman, owen, riise 3 players who gave us great moments and contributed hugely during rocky times for us......yet any chance we can, lets give them a good slagging off
