This is the most frustrating issue surrounding our club, as it is something they haven't managed to mess up. yet. i was vehemently against the move and still am, although we must now accept it as a reality. what people need to realise is that anfield is a key reason why we remain one of the world's special clubs, despite a long period of also ran status in the domestic league. I could list the reasons anfield is special here but nobody needs patronising. My point is that we need to take this as the first opportunity - of many - to become leaders again, in every field. we are a badly managed club at present, unfortunately very similar to the city council. we seem to operate by habitually copying what man united do, and have done for almost as long as i can remember. for example i read with dismay, but not surprise, the plans for rotating digital advertising hoardings to be introduced next season. i realise they will bring in extra revenue but why weren't we looking at this years ago? we need to pioneer, not follow. what i would like to see is for us to become the first english club with a really special new ground. these grounds exist all over europe, there is an alternative to the soulless bowls. yes to borussia dortmund (have you seen that stadium??), braga, munich, and any others we have all looked at with amazement at the last few international championships. no to emirates, eastlands, walkers, you know the ones.
