he's right. we've done the hard part. we're not bottlers (the team that is. the fans certainly are), we've had our form and injury problems, but we're there, level top, in good shape, all the lads back, played well yesterday, looked confident... i'm surprised at the negativity today.

By his standards of this season Babel did alright. I was screaming at him at times, but less than usual. Still don't think he's got the head or the heart (as k.a.m.f. said), but if he can be relied on as a bit of an impact sub every now and again it'd be a bonus. absolutley. i'm massively sick of hearing about him full stop. he's been a headache since day 1 and it must be affecting the morale of the team to have this pain in the a*** bad influence around the place.

I'd accept that, we don't know though do we. If you're telling me that's what happened then sound, but since we're speculating: Can see it being a similar situation with Alves, similar transfer as the Barry one really as i remember, club didn't want to sell him and kept putting the price up. We don't know if the valuation in Benitez's head was the same as Parry's, and I can well imagine someone along the chain saying "that much for a fullback??" Different ownership yes, but they didn't really change anything with regards to how transfers happen, parry was doing his softly softly losey monkey act back then too.
