  1. Erik turned up in the square at Dortmund before the UEFA Cup final and was mobbed. Was well funny, him in his suit jacket with his Liverpool top on underneath. I think it was against West Ham at Anfield when he took a well hit ball straight in the face from point blank range, he just staggered back a foot or so, shook his head to clear it and galloped off again to a great roar from the crowd.
  2. If that's what they think then we're probably better off without them anyway.
  3. It's on!
  4. All the talk was that we were demanding £30 million up front. Whether we got it or not who knows? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/leagues/premierleague/liverpool/5961234/Liverpool-meet-Real-Madrid-to-thrash-out-Xabi-Alonso-transfer.html

  7. 15 goals from there last season.
  8. Spot on. Some of the slagging he's getting here over last night's performance is bizarre. I don't know how he came across on the telly but 40,000 plus at the game appreciated his game as did the bench who were constantly shouting encouragement to him when he was on their side first half.
  9. The report I read this morning said that the gesture was at Neville because he gave Tevez the finger as he ran celebrating after scoring the penalty.
  10. He was cramping up in his calfs for about twenty minutes before he came off. He could hardly run for the last ten minutes.
  11. Tom Hicks Jr faced calls to resign from the Liverpool board tonight for sending an obscene email to a supporter in a row over Rafael Benítez's transfer budget. Hicks, son of co-owner Tom Sr and a club director, created further problems for the Liverpool hierarchy on Saturday when he became embroiled in an angry exchange with a fan he labelled an "idiot". The Dallas-based businessman also told the supporter, in an email copied to fellow Liverpool directors Ian Ayre and Philip Nash, to "Blow me f*** face. Go to hell. I'm sick of you," a comment he has since apologised for but which prompted demands for his departure from Anfield. Stephen Horner, a member of the Spirit of Shankly supporters' union, contacted Hicks Jr amid concerns that Benítez will have little to spend this month even if he raised over £15m through player sales. The Liverpool manager has raised £6.4m so far, with Andriy Voronin today completing a £2m switch to Dinamo Moscow following Andrea Dossena's £4.4m move to Napoli on Friday, but is reluctant to sanction Ryan Babel's departure due to a lack of replacements. Maxi Rodríguez could complete a £1.5m transfer to Liverpool tomorrow providing he ends a dispute over a loyalty payment with his current employers, Atletico Madrid. The response from Hicks Jr today prompted the Spirit of Shankly to issue a statement calling on the Liverpool director "to recognise his shortcomings, not only as an individual, but more importantly as a 'custodian' of the club, and to do what any honourable person would do and to resign". A spokeswoman for Spirit of Shankly, James McKenna, added: "For one of the directors of the club, and the son of one of the owners, to respond to a fan with genuine concerns in such a manner is unacceptable. Many fans are angry and have major concerns with how the club is being run, and when these concerns are aired and responded to in such a way, this further goes to show how the present ownership of the football club is out of touch with what fans want. Tom Hicks Jr should resign, as his position as a director is now untenable." The Liverpool director subsequently described his email as "a kneejerk reaction" in an apology to Horner, while the club has launched an investigation, having denied that Ayre and Nash received the abusive correspondence. It is understood Hicks Jr views his apology as the end of the matter and has no intention of resigning although, but with the owners searching for new investors as part of efforts to reduce the club debt, the spat comes at a delicate time for Hicks and Gillett. McKenna also condemned Liverpool's refusal to comment on the controversy today. He added: "The conspiracy of silence which has followed this unsavoury incident is totally unbecoming of a club which has always prided itself on its relationship with the fans. Are we to presume that the Liverpool hierarchy condones the comments made by Tom Hicks Jr or is it simply a case that the deeply flawed regime of Hicks and Gillett has left the entire club in a state of paralysis?" http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/jan/10/tom-hick-jr-email-liverpool-fan
  12. He would have had four if the one he had disallowed for slightly impeding the woeful Hooper had stood.
  13. I thought it was the 100th today.
  14. Great work. I was hoping that something like this had happened when I spotted the big gap on the front row of the director's box.
  15. In your family?
  16. He did. They immediately packed his knee in ice.
  17. They didn't want him out there though. Rafa and Sammy Lee kept shouting to him to stay central.

  19. To be fair, he's got a long way to go before he's as miserable as the poster he was replying to.
  20. Reina Masch Lucas
  21. He was walking back to the dugout on about 85 minutes, got a bit of stick from the Paddock near the benches and told the crowd there to “f*ck off” several times, doing it all snidey, trying to hide it. This of course was met with howls of glee. The weasely copper who patrols near the dugouts had had a go at some lad about five minutes earlier for throwing a bit of abuse at Owen, telling him that if he carried on swearing he would chuck him out, so when Neville started swearing at us there were a few jokey comments towards the copper that if he was threatening the lad with ejection then he should be doing the same to Neville. It seems like he might have had a word.
  22. One of the highlights was on about 85 minutes Neville telling us all to f*ck off as he went back to the dugout. He wasn't happy.
