If he'd left because he'd utterly f***ed things up then no-one would want him back. He wasn't blameless for all the s*** that went on last year but he shouldn't take all the blame. There's unfinished business here and I want to see him given a shot under decent owners who are prepared to back him (sensibly - not Man City-esuqe ). Can you imagine the reception & atmosphere for his first game back. Not going to happen though.

I think he does. Look at players Torres, Pepe, Alonso, Babel, Masch, Agger, Skrtel - all bought in their early 20s for (with the exception of Babel) what turned out to be bloody reasonable money. Where he bought older it was generally due to lack of money (see Right and Left Back until Johnson came in) What I don't think he wants is to be stuck under a DOF like Comoli where he doesn't have final say - which whilst I'd love it to happen is why I don't think he'll be back.
