Dunno anything about him but Barce had a £12.7m offer rejected for him recently. He's got 32 goals in 65 games for Boca Juniors. Here some more info from Wikipedia: Rodrigo Sebastián Palacio (born 1982-02-05 in Bahía Blanca, Buenos Aires) is an Argentine football (soccer) Striker playing currently for Argentine first division club Boca Juniors. While a boy, Palacio started playing in local Bella Vista, and then moved to Huracán de Tres Arroyos in 2002. But he would debute professionally short after with Banfield (by that time in first division) in mid 2003. Two seasons later he transferred to Argentine giant Boca Juniors. In Boca he got the attention of Argentine national coach José Pekerman, and was called for the March 2005 friendly match against Mexico. Rodrigo Palacio won with Boca Juniors the 2006 and 2005 Recopa Sudamericana, the 2005 Copa Sudamericana, 2005 Apertura and 2006 Clausura Argentine league. On May 15, 2006 he was named as a definite squad member for the 2006 World Cup by coach José Pekerman and on June 10, 2006 he came on as a substitute in Argentina's 2-1 win against the Ivory Coast for his first ever appearance in a World Cup. Boca recently rejected a £12.7m offer from Barcelona. Boca's President Mauricio Macri said this "For Palacio we will have to receive the biggest offer in the world because for me he is the best forward in Argentina."

With all this talk of not conceding from corners watch Chelsea fire one in against us this weekend. Then again we could maybe score one on the counter too if we leave Bellamy up to even it out!

Allow me to make a case for Yossi Benayoun...

So that'd be £Xm on a player we sell 6 months later and would we get what we paid for him? If we keep him what do we with the other back up players such as Gonzalez, Pennant, Leto, Aurelio, Zenden and Kewell will be back too. We don't need Benayoun we bought in players like Pennant, Gonzalez and Aurelio to boost the squad and first team. We use them for these exact circumstances. -

Then Luis comes back and.......? Not to mention we will have Leto coming in with possibly others too. -
That corner routine where we float it to the edge of the box...
Alonso replied to psl 's topic in Liverpool FC
Exactly hit the area between the penalty spot and 6 yard line with a ball whipped in a pace and let the attackers attack the ball! Yes vary it every now and again to keep the defenders on their toes but get that delivery right and it can cuase all sorts of problems for the defence. -
If Arsenal or Man Utd had scored that goal the press would have been raving about it for weeks saying how brilliantly they can turn defence into attack with pace, awareness, movement and crisp passing. As for the finish Crouch made that look a lot easier than it was.

You'd think we'd score more than we do from corners what with the likes of Hyypia, Agger, Crouch, Kuyt etc but then the other teams probably man mark as opposed to using zonal marking! -
What about a team that has one player capable of scoring 20+ AND 3 or 4 players who can score 10-15!!

True and Guthrie did look ok as he showed some nice touches, good passes and decent link up play. Dunno about Aurelio at LB tho not against Young but then there's few alternatives with Riise outta form. Doubt Rafa will go for that line up anyway, especially away, which is a shame cos it certainly has potential.
-
Maybe put Warnock in at LB and play Aurelio in midfield and have Guthrie on the bench. That'd give the midfield and more natural balance and Aurelio did ok on Tuesday.

Found this on another forum: Can't believe this is happening!! I know this guy, I have the same age and have played a couple of times with him, that was a little more tha na year ago in a camp for the best youngsters in my province. Of course he was really good, but that he will play for one of the best clubs in the world just seems to good to be true!! He's very creative, good technique and passing. He's best at centre midfield but can also play right mid which he'll probably do at first in LFC. He's developed much since I met him though, but the fact is that he's only played for Falkenberg first team 5 times in the 'Swedish second league', as a sub. So I don't think you should have too high hopes on him yet, he probably won't be ready for first team Liverpool for at least several years, if he can raise his development even further.

Ian Doyle's article in the Daily Post has that we're signing the following: Daniele Padelli (as we know) James McCarthy (as we know) Sebastian Leto (as we know) Astrit Ajdarevic from Swedish second division side Falkenberg. Liverpool have also reached an agreement to sign 16-year-old midfielder Astrit Ajdarevic from Swedish second division side Falkenberg. Ajdarevic, who represented his country in the recent UEFA Under-17 Championship, spent two spells on trial at Melwood this season. Now the youngster will return to Liverpool next week to undergo a medical, and will bolster the club's reserve set-up. "He is a big talent and has made tremendous progress in the last few years," said Falkenberg chairman Lars-Eric Nilsson.

Maybe more importantly but appearances for this season on starting line ups: Almunia 7 - Dudek 3 Hoyte 21 - Peltier 3 Toure 31 - Hyypia 20 Djourou 24 - Paletta 4 Tarore 3 - Warnock 6 Walcott 22 - Guthrie 5 Fabregas 31 - Gerrard 30 Song 6 - Aurelio 17 Denilson 6 - Gonzalez 22 Baptista 14 - Bellamy 25 Aliadiere 9 - Fowler 12 Totals: Arsenal 174 Liverpool 147
-
Wonder if we have the option to buy him at the end of the 6 month loan deal?
-
Which wing and sign more Argies!

Our defence looks makeshift at best and against young, hungry, strong and certainly talented in Baptista's case talented front line we were gonna struggle. Admitedly we should have done better in midfield against 2 inexperienced lads but playing a CM on the right and a LW in the middle certainly didn't help. Personally I'd have made 4 changes to Rafa's side tho to give a solid spine and that would have been Alonso in for Gonzalez and played Aurelio LW. Agger for Paletta, Crouch for Fowler and Reina for Dudek.

At least Zenden is nearly back.....

Reina for CM!

Not to mention Babbel

Interesting to see West Ham have signed Quashie from WBA, so yet another midfielder to compete with Mascherano unless they're confident he'll be off?
