  3. pretty confident comments here, doesn't seem the type of thing he normally comes out with -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Certainly Liverpool secretary, Byrce Morrison, was ebullient after his club was paired with PSV. "It's one of the better draws for us and we've looking forward to playing them" he said. "We're beginning to get the feeling this is Liverpool's year. Let's hope we can win it again."

  5. The journos seems to have got together today to do numerous articles praising and defending arsenal to the hilt ,funny how the most criticism arsenal got was actually from of their own players saying that they need to win things in the present rather than constantly think of the future.

  8. Rijkaard loses cool under pressure From Angus MacKinnon in Liverpool, England March 06, 2007 FRANK Rijkaard's laid-back style deserted him for once as the Barcelona coach aimed a string of barbs at Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez on the eve of tomorrow's Champions League clash at Anfield. Rijkaard, whose team must overturn a 2-1 deficit after crashing to a shock defeat in the first leg of their second-round tie, was clearly irritated by Benitez's confident prediction that the holder would revert to a forward line of Lionel Messi, Ronaldinho and Samuel Eto'o. "It is great to play against a team whose manager already knows everything," Rijkaard said. "Sometimes people who say they know everything are those who know the least. It is a game of two teams, both of whom have a chance of going through on the night." "The style Liverpool have - quite physical and tactically disciplined - once you have seen a couple of their games you know how they play," he said in a quip that could come back to haunt him if Barcelona fails to deliver tomorrow morning (AEDT). Although he acknowledged that Liverpool's lead made it the favourites to progress in many people's eyes, Rijkaard insisted that he had confidence in the ability of his side to turn the tie around. "I left my crystal ball at home so I can't give you the score but it is a great opportunity for us to put things right from the first leg. "Some people might be thinking Liverpool are already through. That takes the pressure off us a little bit and maybe they will find things a little bit more difficult in front of their own fans." http://www.foxsports.com.au/story/0,8659,2...8-23215,00.html

  13. Since the takeover the worry is that clubs will put ridiculous prices on any player we want to buy ,not that they didn't before but could be even worse now ,maybe rafa is just sending out a message that he has plenty of targets in mind ,if our offers aren't accepted we'll just move on to other options.
  14. Lets hope rafa gets on with our new owners.
  15. mourinho on the other hand
  16. A 2 per cent decrease in the wages they pay out didn't sound to me like the biggest reduction ever considering they are paying the likes of ballack and sheva about 130 grand each for example.

  24. sorry it is already been posted http://www.vg.no/pub/vgart.hbs?artid=138945 Åge Hareide talked to JAR after the violent incident in Portugal. He can confirm tha JAR is ok. "JA is doing fine, he came through it without injuries." The national coach was worried about his player when he heard about the incident, and wanted to find out what happened. "I talked to him and the whole thing is far from good, but at least he is ok. Thats the most important thing" JAR did not drink alcohol on thursday night when he was attacked by Bellamy. Bellamy was armed with a golfclub.
  25. Barcelona president Joan Laporta has admitted he is worried about of losing any more of the club's young players to English rivals. The likes of Cesc Fabregas and Gerard Pique have been snapped from Arsenal and Manchester United respectively from Barcelona's youth side before they were given the chance in the Spanish side's first team. Laporta does not want to see any repeat of that happening and when asked of any young players emerging at Camp Nou, Laporta said: "I am sorry I cannot tell you because English clubs will try to take him." "It happened with Gerard Pique, it happened with Cesc (Fabregas). "Barca lost Fabregas but not during my presidency. English clubs like Manchester United and Arsenal are fishing in our water. "They like the Catalan players too much."
