hmm wonder if he'll be positive or have a right moan ...

finish second and united win the title ,or finish third and chelsea win it ? Would it bad if I said I'd go for third? the thought of united picking up another title and getting ever closer makes me physically sick.

Don't think Navas will be moving to the premiership any time soon ,he has panic attacks and bad nerves .He's probably not the type to want to move away from his family or what he knows.

The transfer speculation threads are usually long enough as it is .

http://football.guardian.co.uk/Match_Repor...1968993,00.html How the parties met Liverpool might concede that the miracle of Istanbul and their team's comeback against Milan 19 months ago was not confined to the pitch at the Ataturk Stadium. The club's chief executive, Rick Parry, had arranged for a friend to attend the Champions League final only for him to pull out and pass on the tickets to Sameer al-Ansari. The Kuwaiti-born, British-educated chief executive of Dubai International Capital watched the victory on penalties and then sounded out Parry about investment in the club. Al-Ansari has been CEO of DIC since its inception in October 2004. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and has been a Liverpool supporter for 32 years, taking his sons to Anfield every August.

If this sheikh doesn't like publicity I suggest he tells his investment company not to invest in a world famous 'brand' such as liverpool football club. I made a post in RAWK about the sam Sheikh incidentally who didn't mind giving about money to all his horseracing staff as they lined up when he thanked them ,gave them all nearly a grand each ,he doesn't strike me as the shy type but obviously cannon knows best . I await the next edition of Tom cannon weekly insights with great interest.

I loved reading brian reades assessment of cannon today in the mirror "TOM'S A SAGE WHO DOESN'T KNOW HIS ONIONS CAN I alert you to a strange little man with a strange-coloured 1980s wedge haircut who keeps getting wheeled out before Sky's cameras whenever the words football and money appear in the same sentence. His name is Professor Tom Cannon, attached to either the Kingston Business School or the University of Buckingham, depending on which ancient seat of learning he's bragging about that day. And what a sage he is. A year ago he told us that Manchester United's defeat at Benfica "could be disastrous" because they would struggle to attract a new sponsor which could "ultimately cost them between £50 million and £100m." Hmm. Didn't happen. Prior to that he'd said the Glazers would never take over at Old Trafford: "It is one thing for Roman Abramovich to buy Chelsea, it is quite another to try and get hold of Manchester United," he scoffed. Hmm. Happened. His plum-tinged head was back on our screens this week warning Liverpool fans that if their club is taken over by the Dubai investors, there might be a few "fallow years" on the transfer fund front. Wishful, if completely uninformed, thinking from the diehard Evertonian. Mind you, he's really got the inside track on this story, claiming as he did in May 2004 that there would be "a long-term fight" between Steve Morgan and the Thai Prime Minister", it might get dirty" and "Granada, with their 9.9 per cent stake in the club, could end up being the powerbrokers in this deal." Hmm. None of it happened. MEMO to Sky: The next time you need a Tom Cannon to shed light on football finance maybe you should ask Bobby Ball if his sidekick is free. Rock on Tommy. " cannon says : "I'm told that the Sheikh is far from impressed with the publicity surrounding the bid and the suggestion he is the new Abramovich." INSIDER INFO

On returning home, the ardent Liverpool fan found his children and wife singing praises for Arsenal. He grabbed a mingling stick and started hitting them. The following morning, he left the home without giving them money for food, telling them to get food from Arsene Wenger (Arsenal manager)

liverbird04 replied to Maitopoika's topic in Liverpool FC
anyone mentioned the article basecombe wrote in the echo on saturday ,sounds like rafa is itching to get his hands on the academy ,apparently we have over 80 scouts in merseyside and something like only 8 worldwide ....think thats what it said although maybe I read it wrong cos it does seem ridiculously low. -

why they had to get someone reporting on the coca cola championship to write it I don't know ,its almost as if he has gone into the boss' office begging to write a gleeful article on the demise of Liverpool . Gerrards face and reaction after his goals shows his feelings everyone else can f*** off. Pond life in Liverpool ?not half as much pondlife as in the newspapers thats for sure. I know I shouldn't even bother getting angry but these rags are read by millions and influence opinion amongst the brain dead. I don't buy it ,just read it on the internet

forgot about that , tottenham seem obsessed with trying to offload defoe to liverpool.

There is another story in one of the tabloids saying aston villa want bellamy for around 7 million ,either way for arguments sake if we do want rid of bellamy then we will get our money back ,we have a player who won't lose value as someone will always be willing to take a risk on him.
