Ok Im hardly sticking my neck out here...but there is absolutely no chance that Enrique starts at LB for us against Sunderland. So many people keep putting him in their formation despite the fact he still plays for Newcastle and even if he did sign this week would have been at the club for only a couple of days...no chance kenny starts him.

As others have said it's the timing that really bothers me, I have a bad feeling the willingness to increase The Suarez fee so significantly was due to the owners knowing torres was about to be sold. I think 50mil plus is excellent business, but only at the end of the season. Relying on Suarez and Ngog would be madness and back to the shocking squad management of the last few years (the lack of investment up front in the last few seasons has been criminal). Keep him until the summer and then sell him I don't think he's got many good years left in him anyway, I think he'll have a similar career to Owen in that his best years were early but then that could be just sour grapes. My mate works for Chelsea and I am meeting him for a pint this evening...I'll see what he has to say.

I've watched baseball a few times at Fenway with the last time being in august. It's a fantastic venue, they've done a great job with the redevelopment. You access an adjoining street through security and turnstiles and the area is then full of bars and places to eat. Now I know they do things differently over there but it's nice to go and watch sport in place where you can decent food, get served quickly and don't get treated like s****...something along those lines would suit me. Oh and as people arrive early and stay for a while after the game because its a good venue the club must benefit from all the revenue it brings in.

I think Lucas was outstanding today... There i said it. Edit....logged on after a few pints celebrating the result and should have actually read the various threads about the match and put the Lucas comment in the correct thread but anyway, he was excellent today and I can see a real future for this lad if people get behind him instead of jumping on the 'he's s*** bandwagon'.

Well we need a lot but we wont get much of it in Jan with a thin market and inflated prices...I do think they'll try and make a bit of a statement with one, maybe two high profile signings but then again that depends on who is available.

Have followed US sport for years and lived in Boston for a couple of years, they've been excellent owners, they get the best people running the club and give them the money to do it well. They recognise how important the success of the team is to a successful business model and I cant see any reason why they won't stick with that approach here.

I didn't mean he didn't buy a striker because he was stubborn, i think his treatment of Keane was more to do with the Barry saga...which i think is part of a stubborn streak that Benitez has. In my opinion, Keane is a decent forward and our current back up to Torres is Ngog and Voronin and that obviously isn't good enough. I also think he could have done a better job with Crouch and given him more opportunities so he didn't want to leave.
