No problems fitting in at LFC then . Unless we sign a striker or two that's going to be putting away goals for fun, I think it's important that the right midfielder we sign be able to contribute more than a few goals a season. Alves, based on the numbers, doesn't seem to do that.

Being Norwegian, I think they should have skied to Anfield. The could use regular skis to the coast, water skis to Newcastle, and then skied on the backs of some shirtless Geordies to Anfied. It would have been the stuff of legends.

I'd like to see Alonso take a penalty in a normal match versus West Ham or something. Taking your first penalty at a club in the Champions League final is a bit tough for anyone.

We do. I love watching the reserves it's my favorite part of the EST. I know young players can disappoint, but I really feel that in Barragan, Hobbs, Roque, Anderson, Hammill, and Martin we have at least 3 future first teamers. I hadn't seen much of Linfield until the last few months, but he's well on his way to his Trezeguet-van Nistlerooy badge for being in the right place at the right time and that's always useful.

The only one I've been comfortable is with Hamann's in Istanbul. Bizarre, I know, but I just had faith the Kaiser would find a way. The one I had the least faith in was Xabi's in Istanbul - I knew he was going to miss it, I just did. He didn't look happy waiting to take it, and it was all just too good to be true Anyway, I bet Agger takes a cool penalty.

I agree. I'd say his misplaced passes are due to lack of composure rather than a fundamental skill problem. In some of the more recent games he's calmed down considerably when on the ball and all has been well. He'll soon get to the point where he plays that way consistently.

Agger did alright, he definitely has the tools to succeed. But I get the feeling that things still happen a little too fast for him in the Prem, but he'll get over that. It does however show you how magnificent Sami and Carra are when one of them isn't playing.
