I agree that this does seem to lean towards a Torres signing next summer. But in regards to not signing a striker, you have to weigh the opportunity cost of not going into this season guns blazing... -

I think Momo will become much more complete with time - though nowhere very complete. But he doesn't really need to be complete does he? If all he does for his whole career is win the ball and pass it to Xabi 20 times a game (which he currently does) and throw in the odd Igor-esque mazy run and/or through ball he'll be a legend in the true sense of the word.

He wouldn't nearly look as hard otherwise. For Argies and Uruguayans hardness is proportional to hair length. For most other nationalities it's inverse.

Yeah, he's good. Strikers tend to break through earlier as well so he may be in line for a game here or there if we can't sign another striker.

How would Momo have fared in this World Cup? Poor boy would have picked up at least 6 yellows. I can't wait to see him in action again.
