  1. (top right corner )
  2. I disagree. Momo was great and is developing at an astonishing rate in all aspects of his game. One of the thigns I watched for yesterday was how he dealt with receiving the ball in a tight situation. He almost always had a first good touch which created space and found a decent option. Almost every game he brings something new to the table that he hasn't before - whether it's some new level of composure or a bit of skill (that backheel/drag to Gerrard was fantastic). It's a case of 5 steps forward and 1 step back with him and it's wonderful to see. He is going to be world class within 3 years. There, I've said it - laugh at me if you want, I don't care.
  3. Fair enough. My fault for being a bit harsh there.
  4. He defends well enough eventually, but I think his style is less stable and predictable than Riise's and so that worries Sami a bit which leads to him going out of position and then Carra getting worried, etc, etc. That's not all Aurelio's fault, but it just seems to be a fact.
  5. Calm the f*** down.
  6. Agreed. Played like a lion as usual and that nifty touch to set up Stevie G was Ronaldinho-esque.
  7. Pretty high since Carra is apparently doubtful.
  8. Another "FAO Forum" thread. It's just getting out of hand now.
  9. How was Carvalho's shirt tugging there any different?
  10. Yeah, I think he's a little too laid back.
  11. Everton 2-0 up. Johnson with a really nice goal. Spurs aren't at the races at all.
  12. And now Everton score. Davenport own goal.
  13. I just sent it to you at hotmail.
  14. At least we'll get to see Kuyt early
  15. No, you're spot on. It's depressing.
  16. Can someone please PM me with a link? Thanks!
  17. No he doesn't. The system by-and-large works. Look at the list below and tell me how many grevious errors there are in that list. The only one that's obviously wrong is Chelsea in Pot 2 - they should be in Pot 1 instead of Valencia. But Chelsea is an anomaly, and it's hard to design systems to deal with that. Otherwise, there's not a whole lot to argue with. Maybe one could talk about Lyon or Bayern, but they are a borderline case and it's just unlucky they are in Pot 2 instead of Pot 1. That happens no matter the system. As for the whole knockout stage thing, if you're really the best team ever you should win the group and so should all the other domestic champions and then you won't have to play them will you? One argument that I do buy is that UEFA cup results shouldn't help your coefficient as much as CL results. But that's not the argument Mourinho is making. Pot 1 ------------ AC Milan Barcelona Real Madrid Inter FC Liverpool Arsenal* Manchester United Valencia Pot 2 ------------ Lyon Porto PSV Eindhoven Bayern Munich Chelsea Roma Ajax* Celtic Pot3 ------------ Lille* Benfica* Bordeaux Steaua* Werder Bremen Sp Lisbon Olympiacos CSKA Moscow* Pot 4 ----------- ΑΕΚ* Anderlecht Dynamo Kiev* Lefski S.* Shaktar Donetsk Galatasaray* Hamburger* Slovan L.*
  18. I don't know if I agree. Harry Kewell last season was symbolic of Liverpool as a whole last season - neat touches, solid, but by-and-large not incisive. I think that's something Speedy brings to the table which could be valuable. He (Gonzalez) is in no way better at retaining posession than harry, or more gifted with the ball at his feet, but there are 3 or 4 times each game when he gets at the other team - gets in the box, causes some panic, hits a screamer that can generate a rebound, etc - which are invaluable. Back in the day Harry Kewell did the same, but now I think it's a much smaller part of his game.
  19. It's f***ing unbelievable and very frustrating. I just can't deal with it anymore - I've turned the TV off for a while.
  20. How about we lighten the mood a bit? Titus Bramble has just fallen on his a*** in an attempt to "defend", leading to an Henri Camara break of sorts in the first 2 minutes of the season. Edit: I'd also like to add that Agger is looking good. Cool and calm - although I'd like him to have a bit more fire at times, but he's looking like one to keep.

  22. Forget the goal. Did anyone see that low, hard shot from Momo . You would have put your mortgage on that one ending up in the Kop last season. He's even burning a Haifa player or two with some moves. The banner says it all really.
