  1. Agger's easily first choice right now. I could have predicted Sami's form, but I'm genuinely surprised by Carra's.
  2. Sissoko played RB at Valencia, so it's not quite like putting Luis at full back. I think Momo would do qiute well in that situation, though with a completely different approach than Stevie.
  3. If we play a 4-3-3, one of the wingers cannot be Pennant since we need more 3 players who have a remote chance of scoring.

  5. Chelsea and United slipping up has given us a get out of jail card. We're not going to get another one. Time to get the show on the road.
  6. Ouch!
  7. Song isn't playing apparently.
  8. The issue of booing aside, no we shouldn't. People keep making this comparison, but there is one fundamental difference - Gerrard stayed. Sure it's not great that he got close to leaving, etc, but when the final decision had to be made, he always stayed didn't he? It's the difference between thinking about cheating on an exam and actually doing it, for instance. Humans think about lots of things - that's the way we are - but at the end of the day it's the actions that say the most. For that reason, Gerrard's situation is not comparable to Owen's.
  9. Gerrard's playing really well.
  10. Gonzalez wins his fair share of headers doesn't he (for a short a***). Zakora with an excellent, excellent tackle on Bellamy when Craig was about to be through. It's heating up.
  11. Agger is absurdly good on the ball.
  12. Wow. King had a chance for a free header and whiffed it. That was a little uncomfortable.
  13. Gonzalez doing pretty well so far. Keeping possession and linking up better than most games he's played so far. Alonso goes close with an bouncing bobbling left footed shot.
  14. Agger is class on the ball.
  15. I think Gerrard may pip first. Voting was around FA Cup Final time wasn't it .
  16. The interesting thing to see will be whether Agger's more frequent inclusion in the side means that Rafa will give Sissoko/Gerrard a try. Maybe Agger can act as defacto holding midfielder in the buildup which can help offset Xabi's absence?

    Preach brother.
  18. Ouch. Somtimes the truth hurts.
  19. I loved his reaction to Drobga's elbow. I'm paraphrasing here, but I believe something along the lines of: "You elbowed me you chav b*****d. That's twice now. Do it again and you'll be playing golf with Tiger permanently. And get yer hair cut you t***."
  20. We may be. Not because we dropped points, but it looks like scoring is going to be an issue again this season. I know it's only four games, but it's just so eerily similar.
  21. Just watched it. How sad is that one? Most of the time I just watch and laugh or smile remember the good times, and so do Bascombe, Bishop, etc. But this one was just somber all around. Everyone's body language saying "it was great, if only it had lasted". Evern Riise and Hyypia still seem down about it. Just a non-optimal situation for everyone, wasn't it?
  22. I dunno about that. Considering the two of them like to roam and that Ballack and Lampard love popping up in the area between midfield and the centerbacks (and taking twelvety shots a game each), it could be a problem. Unless Rafa puts one of those shock collars on Momo or Stevie
  23. I forgot to add Parry at keeper
  24. We all know Rafa is going to shock us. Anyway, my bet is: Finnan Carra Agger Warnock Stevie Xabi Big Mo Bellamy Luisito Kuyt Istanbul-esque isn't it? You get a nice strong midfield, ultimate tactical flexibility to switch to a 4-5-1, 4-4-2, etc throught the game, and jammy goals on the ready from Luis.
