I was absolutely gutted when Batts saved Socrates penalty in the shootout. He was one of my favourite players. Into the top right hand corner always... what technic, but what a save! I couldn't belive my eyes. Good call. I rememeber watching this with one of my brothers... we never spoke a word for the entire first half. At half time we were like " this has got to be the best game ever"... 2nd half was no let down either. Literally end to end stuff. Hope we get another match like this, this time round.

Spot on. Aimar really is a differant class. I'm so convinced of his ability, I reckon he will eclipse Alonso & quite possibly give Gerrard a good run for his money as the best player at Anfield after the first season... if he comes. All these comments about the comparison between Garcia & Aimar are off the mark. Aimar is a much better than Garcia with better ball control. Apart from the last few games in the season, most on here were getting peeved with Garcia's poor ball control & him losing posession. It will happen again next season with Garcia. That's just the type of player he is. I have been waiting for this since Rafa signed.... actually, I wanted Rafa to come to us, so we could get Aimar! He would be class!

Get the club to a stage where it will make money, year in year out, without any need for borrowing. Only spend profit. Would you increase ticket prices? No more than at the current rate, but with a bigger stadium i'd fractionally reduce the cost. What you set the transfer budget to be this season? No limit, Rafa isn't the type to spend unwisely on star players. I'd get him whoever he wanted. Would you go ahead with the new stadium with fixed capacity for 60,000 spectators? Definately, 60,000 would be easy to fill (look at our EC parade) Instead I'd raise it to 80,000 and offer the extra 20,000 seats at a reduced price thus ensuring everyone gets tickets & the stadium is always full.

I agree with too... Just wish they'd stop targeting everyone we seem to be interested in. Its an obvious ploy to stop us getting our man. My friend who told me about this, told me he is keen to check on Diego Lugano too and enquiries have been made. What a bunch of w@nkers.

Just told by a friend that they had an intial bid for Carlos Tevez rejected, not sure how much. I think someone on here said that they already owned him didn't they? Through the MSI link up??? Anyone care clarify? Also, said (i hope this ain't true) that they are looking at Sergio Aguero, and a bid may be on the cards regardless of the Tevez outcome. Looks like they don't want us to buy anyone. First Simao, now Aguero... who next? Owen

A friend of mine was playing for Gillingham when he took over, was billed as one of the best asian prospects in the game. Zak, was the top scorer for the team, was only 18yrs old and was being courted by West Ham, Southampton, Leicester and a few others. He played in the same youth teams for the borough as Sol Campbell, Muzzy Izzet and a few others I can't remember, and he always stood out as the better player. Then guess what happened.... Good old Roeder comes in, drops him, doesn't even give him a look in, refuses to let him leave for a loan spell. Keeps him hanging on for the rest of that season & the next, but still refused to play him. From what i've been told, the man is a total numpty, clueless, no man management skills, and loves the sound of his own voice. But that's from an aggrieved player.
