  1. Hope this goes through. He’s going to be a brilliant player.
  2. it’s a remarkably murky world with agencies and agents mostly in the driving seat. It’s mad that clubs in some cases have to hire agents to negotiate with the player’s agent and the agent representing the player’s current club. Everyone needs a slice of the pie.
  3. He didn’t fail at Bournemouth. He did a brilliant job there.
  4. The plan seemed to be ‘find the solution to low blocks’ which was sign the best striker and chance creator available. They forgot that pacy wingers are still required.
  5. Kane. The 32 year old version playing in an easy league. Lewandowski is too old. Shush on the Mbappe talk, it ruins my ill thought though point.
  6. Fit and on form he’s the 2nd best striker in the world.
  7. Possibly for another thread but Iraola can definitely coach a team. He’s had a whole new back 4 to organise this season and kept Bournemouth competitive. It’s quietly impressive.
  8. Alonso played a back 4 for all Real Madrid’s games. He only lost 2 league games and one of them he had 2 lads sent off. I’m not putting all my eggs in the Xabi basket though. I reckon City might come calling.
  9. Just don’t think Alonso wants to take over now and be blamed if we don’t make the champions league. Fresh start in the summer while considering all options is the right approach for him. The City job might come up in the summer and that’s more appealing than us at the moment.
  10. They can squeal all they like, but have to play on Mondays because if they play on Saturday at 3pm the north of the city comes to a complete standstill.
  11. I’ve got ‘boardroom’ hospitality for this. Will see if I can get any gossip.
  12. My Dad was a pro at West Brom for a while in the early 60s. He ended up with awful migraines from heading heavy wet balls in training.
  13. He’ll just be on massive wages compared to the Italian sides who might be interested. He’s not joining Juve or the Milan sides, so there’s a massive drop off to what Lazio/Udinese/Parma can afford.
  14. Not at the wages he’s on at Liverpool.
  15. What big mistakes leading to goals has he made? Some of his shot stopping is actually top level.
  16. Not sure we’ll ever know really. But he ended up taking on too much and burnt himself out. The owners should never have let it get to that.
  17. I think that was the key factor in him becoming completely exhausted - I wouldn’t want that for him again. A friend of a friend was on the club staff (medical side) and said he was on the cusp of a breakdown. Bring him back, but let’s create the structure for him to do what he does best. Can you imagine how good Ekitike could become under Klopp?
  18. The ground is essentially handed over to UEFA 2/3 days before the game, so it’s their lawsuit to manage if it comes.
  19. Roefs at Sunderland Lots of keepers are having a better season than Alisson. His handling hasn’t been great, he’s slower, and he puts us in trouble with his passing every game. It’s not like he’s young and getting used to the premier league either. He’s been the best - he just isn’t anymore. And the answer is Roefs.
  20. There are better keepers around now. We should sell him before his form dips further.
  21. If Ibou stays we are reliant on 2 lads who’ve not played more than 50/60 professional games between them. One who has had a serious injury. And then we’re also reliant on Ibou not having another terrible season.
  22. We will need: A right back (Can’t trust Bradley to be fit) A left back (Robbo will go) A centre half (2 if Ibou leaves) 2 central midfielders (MacAllister to leave) 2 wide players (replacing Salah and upgrading on Gakpo) It’s another huge and important summer, especially when there’s a World Cup to consider and potentially a new manager to embed.
  23. I agree with this, but I also think that if there was a top candidate for the role available, they would’ve appointed him. They will have all kinds of data, their own eyes and the fan sentiment to go on, and they all tell the story of letting Slot go. Fixing the team is easy. Two pacy wide players who can beat a defender 1 v 1 and we would be so much better. Salah and Gakpo as a pair are worse than pretty much every team we play. Liverpool should never been in that position.
