You’d think him or Gusto would be moving on.
-
It’s hard to play central midfield in the Premier League and he’s done reasonably well at 19/20 years old. I reckon Iraola likes his profile too - runs all day and loves a tackle. The question is whether we want to invest game time in him or give Nyoni and McConnell a chance instead.
-
He (like lots of players) didn’t look properly fit last season. And watching him waddle back like he was carrying a medium sized fridge on his back was a particularly miserable feature of an entirely dispiriting season. He’ll do for another season and under Iraola might go back to getting 10 back post tap-ins. Then let’s get a better player.
-
Including Trent’s brother. I’ve mentioned it before, but agents will get big money from clubs for moving players even at this age. And a deal for a young player for roughly £1 million transfer fee would mean an agent gets £500k.
-
I’ve thought that but more that it’s a lack of the right conditioning training while they are at the academy and then when they have to step up to first team intensity their body breaks down.
-
He can hold the ball up really well, which Evanilson does for Bournemouth.
-
No they didn’t. Not until he trained with the first team goalies and Friedel said that Kane finished like Fowler. That made the Spurs academy coaches look at him differently.
-
I’m not projecting anything. It’s just an opinion. And you don’t need to tell people it’s your point of view, when you post on here it’s generally accepted that you’re not speaking on behalf of someone else.

All manager make do with players and of the 3 mentioned only 1 is a first choice player - Adams. But…. They are all significantly more mobile than Elliot and make far more tackles than Curtis. Of course you could keep Curtis around, but ultimately he’s not a first choice player under Andoni and it appears that he wants to be first choice.
-
Macca doesn’t fit Iraola’s football - so needs to be sold too. There’s zero chance Elliot fits an Iraola system because of his lack of pace. Curtis dwells on the ball too much and doesn’t make enough tackles and Gomez is neither a dynamic enough full back nor a dominant enough centre half.
-
Since none of them fit our new coach’s style of play we’re better off selling them, and ensuring that we book profit for homegrown players now is really sensible in case Isak/Wirtz don’t work out and we potentially make actual/accounting losses on them.
-
Seeking Jones, Elliot and potentially Gomez is pure profit. And that helps considerably for accounting purposes.
-
They have Gakpo and Rio for the left. I expect they’ll try to find a player who can play across the forward line to cover for Isak as well. We’re interested in this lad apparently: Your point about availability is a good one and it’s why City ended up with Semenyo, who’s really good but not at the Doue/Kvara levels.
-
I wonder if they see him as a striker like Dembele. Two footed and really pacy. can’t really blame a lad for wanting to play for the current champions league winners.
-
I dont think Szob is a perfect 8 for Iraola. His midfielders need to make loads of tackles and be really press resistant under pressure. Szoboslai doesn’t make loads of tackles and panics under pressure.
-
This is true. Munich might be interested if he was available.
-
He gave up running at high intensity a good while ago, and decided he was going to strut around the pitch, play midfield and think he’s great. He’s way past his best. He’ll be suited to playing in Italy without ever having made his mark at Madrid. I reckon Szoboslai isn’t signing a new contract at the moment, and we won’t let him get to the last year of the contract. He’s a sellable asset who can pay for transformative signings.
-
I wonder if we might see MacAllister, Jones and Szoboslai leave.

Meeting a fella and working with him closely over a number of years are two very different things. The staff member could well be a c*** as well. There are lots of big egos married with a lack of self awareness at football clubs. -

He was described to a friend by a member of the club staff as an ‘absolute c***’ That might be a good thing. -
You clearly have a productive happy life professionally and personally.
-
Not sure Quansah is the right fit right now. Lacroix is cheaper and fits our need for experience more closely.
-
Some mad shouts. Keep the lad who isn’t good enough for Aston Villa, and bring back the brainless striker who couldn’t hit a barn door for us. Sell Elliot because he’s home grown and use the money to buy someone who fits a really high tempo, high energy team. Stay miles away from Nunez and invest in someone who can hold the ball up well.

They conceded only 21 goals from Jan when James Hill came into the starting line up.
