  1. To say that he doesn’t think that style can work at Liverpool is genuinely mad when he’s literally watched a successful Klopp Liverpool team play that way.
  2. Gomez coming on for Konate in the last game of the season feels like a goodbye for both of them. I expect a centre half and a right back. Or a player who can play both like Kounde. I also don’t believe a word of any club briefing since journalists reported faithfully that Liverpool were happy to start the season with Danny Ward in goal. side note - I saw Danny Ward in the Tesco Metro on Coronation Rd in Crosby eating from a massive pack of cocktail sausages. Clearly taking his conditioning seriously.
  3. https://www.davidlynchlfc.co.uk/p/training-schedule-academy-concerns I reckon there maybe more to come from players about Arne’s shortcomings.
  4. I sort of get that. But if there’s a moment to appoint a more inexperienced manager it’s when big rivals have Alonso, Maresca & Carrick also starting with their clubs.
  5. And when he’s not available?
  6. No. Back 4. Two high energy midfielders and a 10. He needs a striker who can play with his back to goal and hold the ball up well. Would not be surprised to see a temporary solution/loan for a season in the striker role. Gakpo cannot do it.
  7. Why won’t we sign a new centre back? I wouldn’t believe anything the club briefs in the press.
  8. There are a good number of centre halves who can immediately show a higher level of performance than Konate from this past season. And rewarding a player with essentially the best wages at the club when they performed so poorly and displayed non of the leadership required to be at that level is also counter productive.
  9. What if the new player is much better though?
  10. Ibou apparently wanted parity with Virgil. He’s not at that level.
  11. It’s more about the precedent you’re setting by putting someone who’s clearly not elite on the elite wage band and what that does for wider contract negotiations for all players.
  12. They are surely mad if they give him the wages he was requesting at Liverpool. He’d be their best paid defender by a mile. Van Dijk wages for an inferior version who struggles to play football if you press him.
  13. Iraola coached a whole new back 4 to 6th place. It’s possible. Ibou has also been a complete liability all season. We can be a better team with someone else playing there.
  14. On the form of last season bringing in Senesi on a free would be a positive move. He’s much, much better on the ball than Ibou.
  15. He’s not a journalist at all. He’s a freelance journalist in the same way that I’d be ‘Scarlet Johannsen’s sex toy’ if I wrote it in my Twitter bio.
  16. Yeah. Given they had access to all the main figures there’s a surprising lack of depth.
  17. Quick in your youth were you Sammy?
  18. Top speed does matter if you need to play long balls over the top of defences and retain possession. One of the brilliant things about Mane and Salah is that when we needed an out ball behind defences, their pace over 30-40 metres (where they would be at top pace) meant they got there first and we could get up the pitch.
  19. https://www.bundesliga.com/en/bundesliga/stats/players/top-speed No blistering pace?
  20. ‘Don’t ask me the reasons why I’m leaving, there is no reason, but deep inside, I know it’s my time’ Really Pep?
  21. This content is not viewable to guests.
  22. They’ve conceded 15 in their last 17 games. Wouldn’t describe that as conceding loads. Once they brought in Hill at centre back they tightened up loads.
  23. It wasn’t just the running. They didn’t panic under pressure and carved out chances. The goal they conceded was just hoof it into the box and get bits. Not ahead of Inzaghi.
