  3. I'd take 3-0 up in 20 mins. Followed by parking the bus on our own 18 yard box. Taking Gerrard and Carragher off after 75 mins (no further goals) The as they panic and pour forward, Xabi a sweet, defence splitting pass for Torres to run onto and bang it past Cech for complete humiliation. Having said that. 0-1. 94 minute goal seems appropriate

  5. Was an observation not a criticism. Oh, and quite a poor joke !
  6. Fantastic wording of the post. Groin problem, so b******s indeed. Worth noting that is he hadn't been injured Riise probably woun't have been on the pitch ergo = double b******s. Does Riise know how to even use his right b******?
  7. Yep, condolences to the Lampard family. I think it is also worth mentioning that Chelsea have been an excellent employer over this matter. I speak from personal experience, that knowing you are being supported by your employer whilst you need to regularly attend hospital to tend to a dying relative, takes a great deal of stress out of the situation and you can concentrate fully on your relative.
  8. Who the f***ing hell are you is a great put down. Meaning you're f***ing nothing ----> no history -----> no basis to try to act up. Long may it continue !

  10. Keith Allen, the worst type of bang-wagon jumping football whore? "Vindaloo"? I know let's portray football fans as morons .. and make oodles of cash from idiots who think it's funny to sing a song about a bucket of food Thanks for reminding me why I hate this programme
  11. I'm still not convinced
  12. Noooooooo. The only thing that could make it worse would be if they chant "Who are yer"

  18. I was at Uni in the North East at the time. A mate of my dad's promised me a ticket and I was due to meet him at Sheffield train station. I set off to meet him, don't know what made me do it, but I called my dad to check that everything was still on course from a station phone box My dad said he thought so, cos he'd heard nothing from his mate, Tony, but said he'd check. I called him back from the same callbox and he said that Tony had left but his missus said he was giving his spare to his cousin, Phil (later turned out that the ticket had originally been promised to the cousin and that he wasn't going to go but changed his mind). Tony had left a message for my dad at the local boozer explaining things. My girlfriend at the time was with me (seeing me off) and I'd already bought the ticket to Sheffield, so I had a choice, go to the game on the off-chance of picking up a spare or do something else. Again, I made a really bizarre choice of not going to the game but to go to the races instead with the girlfriend (I think it was Thirsk) which was on the way between Newcastle and Sheffield. I've been to tens of games without a ticket, so I've no idea why I chose not to on that day. I listened to the events unfold on the radio and it was obviously harrowing. I tried for hours and hours to get in touch with my parents to tell them I was ok. As far as they knew I'd gone on spec. But the lines were constantly engaged until very late in the night. When I eventually got through they were so relieved. That's my rather insignificant story Tony's tickets were in the Leppings Lane end and he and Phil were part of the crush and sad events. They were both strapping lads. I'm told they helped many people get out of the pen. They then helped the emergency services look after the fans who were hurt and dying. I was introduced to Phil about three years later in a pub and he was still obviously greatly affected by the events of the day. He didn't talk directly about it but when my dad said to him that I was due to get the ticket for the game he said "Jesus lad, I wouldn't have wanted you to see what went on there" My mum told me about 10 years ago that Phil had died. He become a shadow of his former self physically and he'd taken to drinking very heavily. His wife had left him and taken his son as he'd become very abusive and refused to get any support/help.

  21. Blackburn's goal, for me, was the least popular goal. It cost me £350. I had the score 2-0 and 3-0 to Liverpool in a double with a dog that won the Scottish Derby on the Saturday night

  24. To a greater extent Hicks is right. Parry et al haven't fully realised the commercial opportunities open to the club. Equally, the club were slow to get on the 'gravy train' and make money from the explosion in interest in football. Parry managed the transition from traditional football club to commercial entity with trusted values and history badly. Obviously, Hicks has acted like a complete fool over all of this but if you think things through it was Parry (and Moores) who made the choice to sell to this baffoon. To my mind there's no salvation for Parry, he's living on borrowed time whatever happens. If Hicks succeeds in buying the club outright, he's a goner and do you really think DIC will keep him at the club if they pull the acquisition off? If he stays to 'serve the club' he could be the problem in all of this. Hicks won't want to deal with him and DIC will be reluctant to accept his word, as it seems that he (Parry) whipped the carpet from under them when choosing G&H last time
  25. No chance of getting a ticket through the usual channels.. but if we get there and I get a ticket, I'll be going. The only caveat is if we play the mancs. I honestly don't think I could have the holiday I've always wanted to do spoiled by losing to them All being well, I've decided to make a week of it going via St Petersburg and then onto Moscow. I've always wanted to go to these places and I know it's would cost a fortune but ......
