  1. What do you mean? According to some of the "experts" on here Rafa doesn't play Cisse out on the right. If Rafa is going to give Cisse a run of games up front (and let's face it, he's hardly going to do any worse than Morientes is he?), I would have thought Arsenal is the game for him. Arsenal are going to come at us and we are going to need some pace up front to try and keep them on the back foot. We only have Cisse who can break into more than a trot. Failing that my four year old is available for selection.
  2. Well he would say that wouldn't he? He's just trying to dampen down the selling club's expectations.
  3. So, you're at least agreeing he was ripped off for Crouch then? Thought we did pay 7.5 mill for Crouch?? I think Crouch has been a reasonable buy for us, but think £5.5 mill to 6 mill would have been a fairer price for him. I just get a bit tired with all this "Rafa won't be ripped off in the transfer market" bollix that is spouted by a wide variety of people. Sure he's got a certain amount of money to spend and has to budget accordingly, but the price of players are dictated by the selling club and if he wants them badly enough he will cough up the extra. He clearly wanted Crouch and agreed to pay more than he was originally offering (and yes I do understand the theory of negotiations). Morientes is a bit tongue in cheek and it is very easy to criticise with the benefit of hindsight.
  4. Morientes: £6.3 million Crouch £7.5 million..........
  5. Perhaps Cisse is to blame for us not having a new stadium as well? Oh, and Rafa doesn't play Cisse on the right does he? Hard luck Robbie, 3rd time lucky against Benfica?

  14. Why should the defence have to carry all the pressure of us winning a game? I don't think it is asking too much for our strikers to have scored more than one goal between them since the start of the new year.

  18. Rafa on Morientes: "It would have given him more confidence. But if you want to see your strikers scoring goals you cannot leave them out." "If you want to support one player then you need to keep him on the pitch, taking him off does not achieve anything." sounds like favouritism to me. Link
  19. Heard a rumour Liverpool were considering selling him in Jan and may do in the summer. Don't know how much truth there is in it, but there is a thread on here talking about him "not being happy" at the moment. Perhaps he's just p1ssed off that Morientes is getting picked every week and he's left warming the bench. I think any player that is fit and isn't playing isn't happy and shows that in different ways.
  20. Thought Kromkamp played well in the second half, bit quiet in the first half - finding his feet no doubt.
  21. He obviously wasn't there to watch his brother and his old mates at City play.... . and his dad wasn't there to watch Bradley either!
  22. BBC From BBC: Manchester United and Liverpool have issued a joint statement condemning the fans who attacked the ambulance taking Alan Smith to hospital at the weekend. Smith, 25, suffered a broken leg and a dislocated ankle during United's 1-0 FA Cup defeat at Anfield. The clubs' statement read: "These people aren't real fans of football. "The actions of a few idiots should not overshadow the efforts of all involved to make sure Alan received the best treatment as soon as possible." Reports in several newspapers on Thursday claimed the ambulance was surrounded by people who threw stones and bottles at it and even tried to rock it from side to side. The people who attacked the ambulance are not genuine Liverpool supporters Les Lawson, Liverpool Supporters' Club The two paramedics - both Liverpool fans - were described as being "horrified" by the hostility shown once the culprits realised the occupants of the ambulance were Alan Smith and Manchester United's club doctor Mike Stone. A spokesman for the Merseyside ambulance trust confirmed the attack: "It did not result in any delay in transferring the player to hospital but the trust cannot condone this type of behaviour while administering emergency treatment." Smith, who later underwent surgery on the injury, was given a general anaesthetic before he left the stadium so was not aware of the attack on the ambulance. Smith's road to recovery Les Lawson, secretary of the Merseyside branch of the official Liverpool Supporters' Club, told BBC Radio Five Live: "The Liverpool supporters who were actually inside the ground gave Alan Smith a standing ovation as he left the field. "As far as I am concerned, the people who attacked the ambulance are not genuine Liverpool supporters because you just don't do that sort of thing. "You never know when you are going to need the paramedics yourself or for a member of your family, so how would they feel if mindless idiots came out and tried to shake an ambulance and throw missiles. "These are just not genuine football fans. Words just fail you really. "I don't think the relationship between the two sets of fans will ever improve really because there is a great rivalry and the fans just don't like each other," he added.
  23. Do you face the right way when you go the games then? At least have a constructive discussion even if you clearly don't agree.
  24. If it's not true why have LFC and Utd issued a joint statement about it?
