He might do now, but didn't he try and buy Morientes in summer 04 and eventually got him in Jan 05? And Crouch he seemed to want badly enough to eventually cough up what Lowe was asking for him. This would belie the argument used that Rafa won't pay over the odds for players (he doesn't really want).

There are other strikers in the queue for the exit before Crouch. We already need to buy two new strikers and can't see Rafa spending whatever budget he has on 3. If he gets Kuyt and Owen, Crouch will probably be 3rd choice striker next season.

Knew you'd bite. I still maintain Cisse has played more times on the right than as a central striker since the Super Cup (ie since about mid September). Yes, he has played as a striker and you did come up with an impressive list of games where you think he was played as a striker. Quite a few of them were games before the Super Cup though. The last two games? On the right I think.... You think I'm spouting drivel, I think likewise about your "stats". Suppose we'll have to agree to disagree. I think one thing we will probably agree on is that he will be gone come the summer, so not much point in "discussing" it any further.
