  8. We saw some coppers "escorting" some young-ish wannabe-hoolies, all hoodies and scarves over lower faces, along the road and they were clearly up for some violence. What amazed me is that one of them, all Parka-ed up, was a girl! And then after you'd left the Arkles, more windows went in after you'd gone as well.
  9. No no, it was "In for a week and out TEN YEARS-Everton in Europe."
  10. Class that, sheer class.
  11. Don't fear being lucky. It would surely be bad luck to have injuries and this, at the moment, is how things should be. Just think how bloody lucky Chelsea are to have not had John Terry in particular or Peter Cech injured for the length of time their run has been going.
  12. Not quite true. It was said that whoever won it three times on the bounce got to keep it but they didn't think it would be done so quickly and when T'Rorvers did it, the FA didn't have another FA Cup so in leu (sp) of keeping the trophy, they were allowed instead to have the crest on the corner flags. I believe.
  13. But ain't those pubs full of coked-up blue-s**** singing dreadful, bitter songs about "murderers" and the like? I wouldn't know, I've never been there in recent years when we are at their midden. I'll be guided by more experienced hands on this one.
  14. Well it used to be said, "Whistle doon a Nyacassel pit and up comes a gorrrl scorah". Romanticised nonsense and lazy jornalism at the time but still the theory persists despite obvious evidence to the contrary.
  15. No, nothing at all. Well I got in about 10 to and there was nothing from then, I should say.

    Spot On Stevie!

Couldn't let this pass. Yes, I remember him being slow, cumbersome and talentless and it was only us, the fans who helped him achieve the dizzy heights, wasn't it? FFS!
  17. Not been to Woodison for a few years so where do the good folk of the forum go before we play our blue cousins at their midden?

As I've written, it's not something I'd have done but I can understand why. It's happened throughout our history with (in my time) Larry Lloyd, Keegan, even Dalglish got it off some (I'll admit, I WAS embarrassed then). And you are wrong; they weren't boo-ing him while we were playing them off the park. The boo-ing lasted for a few minutes of the first half only. Once we saw how laughable they were, it had already stopped. But what about commenting on the positives and those who sang his name at the start of the second half? And Given got a good reception as he's well liked and produced another good performance yesterday and so thoroughly deserved it.

  20. To bring it back to Liverpool, though, don't let the fact we won yesterday deflect from the referee's poor decision to not award us two blatant penalties, especially the one where Solano armed the ball away from going over the line. As blatant a penalty as you'll ever see.
  21. What an awful, tragic shame it is that some gangster with balls the size of spacehoppers robbed the Russian people and decided to invest some of his ill-gotten gain in an English football team. For me, the only shadow on Liverpool at the moment is the one Chelsea are casting on the rest of football. Given a level playing field, we could be looking at a bumpy ride between us and Man Ure for the title this season and how bloody good would that be?

You clearly don't know what you are talking about, my friend. Is it only you who dictates what the "Liverpool Way" should be? Well I must go back further that you because I remember Keegan's reception when he came back to Anfield with firstly Hamburg and then, especially, with Southampton and the "Liverpool Way" was, is and I hope forever shall be, to let those who were of faint heart and walked out on us know how we feel. Now I didn't boo Owen and I thought those that did were wrong but I'll defend their right to do so.
  23. Summed up the feeling of the fans yeaterday when they stood, to a man, to give him a standing ovation when he was subbed. And you know what? He deserved it! It struck home then how we've taken to the big feller and long (whoops) may he reign!

I thought the boo-ing was well over the top. I didn't expect a rapturous reception, after all, he never got one while playing for us so why should he now? But compare the reaction to Owen yesterday and that of players like Redknapp who gave far less to the cause and got much better receptions. I think the real fans were those who DID give him a good reception as he lined up for the second half.
