Agree with that. Terrific player, love to see him here.

What we might want and what Rafa wants from a striker is probably very different. Rafa wants more pace and more goals, but he will want to keep and improve on bringing our midfield into play in the final third amd holding up the ball. Cisse isn't intelligent enough to learn what Rafa wants to teach him - he struggled even with the basics of timing his runs and curving to avoid the offside trap instead of just sprinting straight at the goal. This is the nail in any players coffin as far as Rafa is concerned. I thought it was hilarious when the Chavs paid £24mill for Drogba, but blimey he has proved he is worth that and more. I suspect Rafa would take Drogba over Eto'o.
-
He also said they were ready to be signed immediately Fyds and that he wanted them signed immediately and within a week. Personally, thats the only thing that I've seen or read that has me concerned with regards to transfers.
-
Only LFC thing on SSN is an upcoming bit with Stevie G apparently saying demands for top players are unrealistic , no announcement of a press conference. edit : normal SKy misquoting s*** - Stevie was talking about demands on top players physically etc.
-
The only thing that has concerned me was what Rafa said the morning after the CL Final. He had two signings he wanted wrapped up immediately. Its very possible, though, that the things he said and things he has leaked through the press are being sued so clubs don't ask stupid prices for players we want to buy. We've waited every year since that summer Digger, Beardsley and Houghton signed for good signings, which we have known we have needed and almost always been disappointed. Lets hope we won't be this time around, no matter how long it takes.

Was interested to see on SSN, from this years Deloitte and Touche Prem report, that the a*** are paying nealy £20mill a year more wages than us and only a couple of mill less than the Mancs. If its true they are looking to refinance their debts, they might be in a worse state than is publically known.
-
Its just guesswork, but I suspect Nani was on Rafa's list of targets. I've read in a few places the Mancs were expected to pay £12mill for him, then at the last minute paid £17mill and wrapped it up quickly. Exactly what they did to us with Ronaldo. This would put him in the price bracket Rafa talked about having two players ready to be signed a week ago.

The post wasn't about the club or transfers or lack of Just in case I hadn't made that clear in four responses. Hiiiii thank yo

Yeah I was around in the Souness era. Just to underline again, my OP was about fans talking bulls*** and overreacting. It wasn't about the business the club has or hasn't done. Folks seem to be reading the thread title and jumping to their own conclusions about what they expect the thread to be about.
-
I agree totally. You took my post totally out of context. My point is on all the LFC forums there are loads of folks jumping to extreme conclusions, based on masses of bulls*** being propagated by each forums rashids and each papers Bacombe. On the other side of the coin is the people wrongly jumping to conclusions about all sorts of things other people have posted.

Closest thing to this close season I can remember, is the three days around when Stevie nearly left. I was actually looking forward to close season and reading all the b******s that would inevitably happen, just for a laugh. Its coming in such quantity though that its like being told your ex girlfriend is pregnant one minute and you've won the lottery the next minute. Hard not to be affected by it. Bascombe isn't helping - one minute Hick and Gillette are the best thing to happen to the club since Shanks and the next minute they are money grabbing, business assassins who are only interested in making a fast buck. It looks like its time to switch off the interweb, stop buying papers and go on a bender until mid August.

He's made that up. He goes on to say : i) no-one knows how much Rafa will get for transfers, and ii) then goes on to talk about the other transfer areas that need addressing once Eto'o is signed and how they will cost loads more. He's lost all credibility in his first sentence.
-
In the first sentence he says Rafa will use all of his transfer funds on Eto'o, then goes on to say he doesn't know how much Rafa will have and then lists other major targets/costs. You're right he is clearly a tosser and this is lazy journalism, as evidenced above. The fact the Americans are doing an analysis of Rafas buys using such a knowledgable (not to mention bloody expensive) company to do it is further evidence of their business acumen. I'm chuffed they are doing it - it shows the club is in good hands going forward and,as stated earlier, it will make Rafa shine even more.
-
I've read in more than one place now that the problem at the moment is getting money to the club, legally, to enable the transfers - its only a very short term problem. They are raising it through the banks. I believe there will be a huge amount of money made available to Rafa and I will be astonished if they don't make one really big signing, as a signal of intent on the part of the Americans. I'll be surprised if we don't see at least one a year for the next few years. Its just bad business sense not to, given their ambition.
-
Its an exaggeration but he's making a decent point. 145 appearamces in 7 years in all competitions. Not poor but hardly first choice on the name sheet. He's missed most of this season with the broken leg and only played 15 league games the year before.
-
He does for England. Score one fantastic goal then play s*** again every time he pulls the shirt on. What an enigma that was.

roflmao Just spat coffee all over my monitor, you bast.

Shamelessly nicked from TLW : Crewe manager Dario Gradi is set to step up his attempts to complete a deal for Liverpool defender Daniel O'Donnell. The 21-year-old spent last season on loan at Gresty Road and, despite having a year remaining on his Liverpool contract, is allowed to leave Anfield for a small fee. Gradi said: "I'm surprised Rick (Parry) hasn't got back to me but there's nothing sinister in that. We understand he has so much to deal with in Champions League week and the aftermath that comes with that. "We are pursuing that now and can confirm that we have faxed through an offer to Liverpool. I'm sure it will be finalised very shortly and I'm not worried by the short delay."

He has a lvl 70 Warlock and has soloed Molten Core - he's THAT good.
-
To be fair mate its all from his own teams fans who watch him play regularly and I did say it looks like. Time will tell but I reckon he is going to be a good player for us. Brazils Player of the Year and we are chasing Frances Player of the Year. Doesn't see a lot to this scouting lark to me.
-
Fred and Cardie, I don't disagree with what your saying. Yes teams have beaten them and they have beaten us. The point is how many managers have had the tactical nouse so that the Mancs have not had a single corner or shot on target in 90 minutes at their gaff, especially with their 'wonder attacking generation' of Ronaldo and Rooney. My only point is that Rafa knows what needs to be done to beat them and hold them, which seems beyond other managers.
-
You're like a tired old dog with a bone sometimes cardie Jan 22 2006 and it was at their gaff - the game where Plug came and taunted us rather than run to his teammates and celebrate the goal. They had f*** all the whole game until Ferdinand scored in the 90th-odd minute. It was the first corner of the game and their first shot on target. You tell me how many times thats been true of any team against them, most especially at their gaff.
