I'd been sat in the car driving back from Cardiff for 6 hours when the report came on. Didn't sound like Stoke, or else I wouldn't have mentioned it - assumed he was from Liverpool or nearby. I was knackered and struggling with back pain at the time, in my defence.

I was referring to that article (the pertinent bit is on the previous page of this thread) and the suggestion above that Bascombe has been saying for ages its nailed on. He hasn't until the last few days - became more positive about in this weekends Echo I think.

Bascombe only writes what the club tell him, and to be fair until the last week or so (i.e. until Djimi went really) he's been consistently saying we needed to shift a few players out. Looks to me like it'll be done in the next few days

Its just going to take us a while to realise that for the first time in a long time we have players, who are not automatic choices, but can come into the team without seriously degrading it. In most cases they're coming in because they offer an alternative, not just because they're all we've got (I am talking to YOU Salif)

The linesman on our side of the pitch was giving off sides despite being 10 yeards behind the play. I thought the ref was crap.

My nephew went to the match for the 1st time but my sky plus failed. He was on telly, so it'd be a bit of a thrill for him to see it.

Just rang ITV - no plans to repeat. Didn't even show highlights as far as I know. Had it been on SKY it would have been repeated a few times
