We're not missing a player on the overlap who gets in behind opp. defence because Johnson doesn't do that. We're not missing a player that comes inside and consistently gets dispossessed. We're not missing his defensive qualities and we're certainly not short of safe, unadventurous passing in the midfield either. The only thing I'd want Johnson in for would be his experience and calmness in contrast to someone like Toure who was a Panicky Pete whenever the ball came to him.

I disagreed with the comment about him doing something in training to bring Rodgers around... ye know what you're getting with Borini, a player that may not be elite like Sturridge but he fits the style.

nah. You know what you're getting from Borini when you bring him on - he's going to run and work for the team and that's what he did.

I don't think it's mad. He's not on alot of money and the club isn't desperate for the fee either. I'd rather have him and not need him. We've had four strikers in the squad in years gone when playing Champions League football and next season Origi is set to join the team so we probably will have four strikers.

For one, Sturridge is likely to be injured at some stage. Lambert doesn't have the legs for this style so mostly will be coming off the bench to add something different. There's going to be a lot of games on the way to the quadruple so I'd tend to want to keep him for depth in the front line assuming we don't intend to buy anyone else.
