http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/transfers/liverpool-transfer-news-bayern-munich-reject-xherdan-shaqiri-bids-9655205.html Liverpool have suffered a setback in their pursuit of Xherdan Shaqiri, after it was revealed that Bayern Munich have turned down several enquiries for the winger. Shaqiri has been a bit-part player during his time in Bavaria and is believed to want a move. But Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenige is set against the Swiss prospect moving on. "We've had several enquiries from teams in England and Italy. I've never had a conversation because we are convinced he will have a good career with us. He must stay healthy, [but] the coach is convinced by him," he told Bayern's official website. "We have a good team. Pep wants 18 top players and five or six talents. He is very happy with his squad, he does not want unhappy players sitting in the stands," added Rummenige, appearing to confirm that Shaqiri will have a role to play at Bayern this season.
