Shevchenko will be player of the year this year. If football is a great big puzzle, Mourinho signed one of the biggest pieces in him. He's an obvious, expensive, uninteresting signing in terms of the required scouting, but he will be f***ing brilliant and I will be genuinely surprised if he does not score 30 goals. He got 127 goals in 207 games in Italy, a league known for it's generally defensive style and rigid tactics and has almost a goal every other game playing for Ukraine. I'm not sure that Chelsea will win the league this season but Sheva is going to be an absoloute joy to watch. One of the few very special players of my generation.

Lothar Matthaus manages Salzburg. People forget that Red Star Belgrade were European Champions in the early 90's. They're a good team and it wouldn't surprise me to see them get a result at home.

The new collar is fantastic. I also like that they've done away with most of the bordering surrounding the club badge and the printed "Carlsberg" is much better too. Overall, I'm well pleased with it.

I got mine on Monday. The retailer I got it from said he'd had stock since the World Cup, but wasn't allowed to put it out on the shelves until the launch date (tomorrow). For the record, I paid R550 / 42 quid.

Thanks for clarifying that. It really is odd that Reebok would utterly ignore an emerging market like the USA and makes me even happier that we're back with the three stripes.

When Adidas launched the Reebok takeover, they were supposed to leave Reebok merchandise in the US alone. The reason; Reebok is larger in the USA than Adidas. This leads me to believe that either the club, or Reebok were not marketing our kit sufficiently in America.

Who's to say it isn't true? If it is, it's working...

He does an excellent job of taking the spotlight off his team. Still a d****ead though.

Did he pick up an injury? I haven't been able to follow the pre-season very closely, due to work commitments.

Things are certainly a lot better in South Africa. I got my official home replica from the Adidas store after pleading with the manager to sell me one a week early, but had to wait months for the Reebok replica to come out when it was first announced. Apparently he's had full stock of both the red home shirt and the European white strip since the World Cup.

I think he makes Emerson look positively stellar by comparison.
