  1. Which one of Carrick, Herrera, Fellaini and Schneiderlin do you put ahead of Can?
  2. One of the pre-season match reports suggested that he looks classy but may need to toughen up physically. Not sure how much you can read into that given it is only pre-season.
  3. I'm hoping a midfield pairing of Can and Wijnaldum will be the answer here. Time will tell.
  4. He got those caps playing CB for us, though.
  5. In his Blackburn days he was phenomenal.
  6. Playing Henderson in a midfield two doesn't play to his strengths. He gets through a lot of defensive work but his limitations on the ball are highlighted. He performs much better in a midfield three but I'm not sure that suits Can as much.
  7. That would be my guess too, although you should probably have Sakho/Matip. I certainly think Origi will start loads - possibly more than Sturridge, even if the latter has a good season fitness wise.
  8. I'm excited by this transfer. The fee is high but then looks like Pogba is about to go for over 4 times the fee.
  9. Hasn't the tendency been for us to play with a 2 man midfield rather than a 3 man midfield? (I thought that's what he did at Dortmund too but I could be wrong.) I assumed he wants to the 2 midfielders to be good all-rounders, rather than specialists. (Having said that, I'm not sure what Wijnaldum is like when his team is out of possession.)
  10. If it does happen, then it doesn't bode too well for Henderson. KAMF will be having words with you about your use of numbering.
  11. Stones wants to move to City according to the Echo
  12. I'd be surprised if he is particularly quick given his build but I could be wrong.
  13. They didn't make a "big signing" last year either after the De Gea fiasco unless my memory has failed me.
  14. Who are these fantastic players that Utd have signed? A 34 year old striker playing in English football for the first time in his career. A 22 year old defender who has barely over a season under his belt and who they paid £30m for.
  15. They've made mistakes for sure but so far I'm ok with FSG as owners.
  16. I can see him playing more in games where we expect the opposition to sit deep and counter rather than games where we expect them to take the game to us leaving space in behind.
  17. It's a good appointment for him.
  18. Both are good outlets in terms of energy on the overlap when we attack although neither has a great final ball. Moreno is more comfortable on the ball than Clyne in build-up play but not that much more comfortable that it outweighs the fact Clyne is a more reliable defender (accepting that he will inevitably have the odd off-day). That's how I compare the two anyway.
  19. I'm not suggesting he wants to sell any of them, more that he would be want at least one more option.
  20. One young striker coming back from a bad injury, one promising kid and one proven goalscorer with a terrible fitness record. Its a recipe for disaster.
  21. Forward options look light to me.
