He's not a prick, notwithstanding the weird article. It's not a veiled piece, Henderson was a huge disappointment this season. The transfer merits scrutiny

Do people here really think klopp would leave dortmund to come here? Wisen up. Dortmund have won the league 2 years running, have an amazing stadium which is full every week with a great atmosphere and have a fantastic squad of young players. Can klopp even speak English?

It's a terrible point. There are huge differences. Firstly, this is the second club martinez had done a good job with. Both swansea under him and wigan played great football. Secondly, and this is crucial, he has dealt well under pressure. Jewell cried like a baby when he kept up wigan for f***s sake. Wigan were dead and buried in March, but he kept his composure throughout and refused to change their style of play. according to players at wigan, through their terrible run he was as cool as ice, not some idiot like allardyce or Bruce screaming at players. Another thing about martinez is that aside from the odd foreign flop, he has spent well and brought through some excellent youngsters. I would prefer rafa and there are other great potential candidates available, but some of the reactions here are ridiculous. Look at rafa's pedigree before he got the valencia job, and that turned out alright didn't it?

What is a nearly a disgrace are the pathetic ramblings of some on here. It's extremely embarrassing. They're not talking to the likes of Neil warnock are they? Some people on here need to wind their necks in.

My favourite film of all time. I'm Mosely!

This is clutching at straws. Comparisons to Schweinsteiger are ridiculous. Comparisons to the likes of Danny Guthrie are far more accurate.

Shelvey was way ahead of him in that game and was our best player. He was far more effective when he replaced Henderson in midfield after the red card. He did play well when moved to right back. But the club didn't fork out that kind of money for a right back scared to make a tackle

Someone will mention his pass to Gerrard for Gerrard's goal against Newcastle at home too. I remember at the time all the Henderson fans raving about that, ignoring the fact that Newcastle controlled the middle of the pitch until Gerrard came on. It was clear after that game that our midfield was f***ed and 4th was never going to happen.

I can think of so many games and situations where he has hid. Blackburn away recently comes to mind. Flanagan was way out of his depth and struggling big time, yet Henderson was nowhere to be found, he failed to help him out and make himself available for an easy pass on so many occasions. Does anyone really believe he'll all of a sudden change and no longer s*** out of tackles? I don't see that happening. Either that's in you or it isn't.you are either brave or not. For all of those here saying that his future is central midfield - he'll need to change his mentality massively in order to be even close to the required standard.

Completely agree with this. Comparisons to the situation with Lucas when he first arrived also wind me up, its completely different. When he played with a bunch of other 21 year olds last summer in the euros, he put in similar weak and gutless performances that we have seen all season. I'd love the lad to be a success, all of us want this, but I have absolutely no faith in him based on his displays and the shortfalls in his game

I can't take much more of this. Another desperate performance. He's just absolutely unquestionably out of his depth.

Hear hear. I've only been to 3 games and it confirmed what I thought from watching the tv for all the other games. I would love to watch a game with someone who is a Henderson fan. I could point out every time he s***s out of a tackle, fails to make himself available for a pass or without the ball, is charging around the pitch without winning the ball back. The Henderson fan could point out the tangible examples of his positive impact on the game. If we scored points, I would win. As someone else on here has said, he's like lampard, except without the goals. The game just passes by the lad.

There is no way kenny is going to play 2 up front against chelsea, and rightly so. A Spearing and Gerrard combination in the middle would be marmalised by chelsea'a central 3, whoever that might be. For all the talk of wingers and strikers, it's the absolutely fundamental problem kenny has faced since Lucas' injury-our central midfielders just aren't good enough to play just 2 of them. Look what happened against bolton. We made reo coker and mark Davies look like scholes and keane.

No more than those who claim he's going to be a good player. I'd say those that have expressed concern have done so on rational thoughts based on the evidence of his performances this season. Those who say he's going to be a good players have done so on blind faith.
-
He's completely and utterly gutless. Shouting at refs for decisions against him may fool some on here, but he plays the game like a s***house. Ducks out of tackles, happy to hide, scared to receive the ball. Obviously young players improve, but I have no confidence Henderson will based on the huge deficiencies in his game. Sure the lad can strike the ball well and hit those sideways passes with good technique, but he doesn't have it mentally. I feared the worst after I saw his performances for the England u-21s and barely noticed him feature.

I was actually being a sarcastic t***, it was the usual performance from Henderson - ineffectual.

Another good performance from Henderson today.

Surely its Carroll. DC is talking about mistakes in the interview?. By all accounts, DC was responsible for the signing of Carroll. Carroll has also been, by some distance, the worse purchase the club has made under the current owner's tenure. When DC says mentality, does he really mean quality? Seems like a good lad, who certainly has gumption, but the club spanked 35m on him. That kind of money should get you the real deal, a player with everything. It bought us a player with one foot, no first touch, the turning circle of a large boat, with half of a decent season behind him. If one single mistake cost DC his job, it was that.
