A mate of mine works for a bookies and said they've had load of money on Moyes to be the new manager on Sunday night

Don't see the hype here. That was an absolutely terrible villa side and their midfield totally dominated ours for most of the first half. I'm seeing a poor man's Frank Lampard emerging. Not a good enough player for a side seeking to challenge for top honours. Him and downing are the first two players we should be looking to see out from the first choice 11.

Suarez Coutinho Gerrard

Very easy to just criticise the defence. They get so little protection from our midfield and we are so open. The best sides are very compact and sides just play through us. Any side that is direct cuts us to shreds.
-
Lucas and Henderson have been absolutely desperate here. Our problems this season are exactly the same as the season before. Absolutely no balance in midfield at all.
-
Sick of watching Henderson chasing shadows here. Been woeful so far

People keep saying this, but its not about the back 4, it's the total lack of balance in midfield. -
Any side with downing starting won't be in with a sniff of 4th. We are some distance off challenging for honours, or even the top 4 and downing is far and away the weakest player starting for the club. We need way better than him.
-
Completely gutless. Not enough characters on the pitch. We have the same fundamental problem as we had under Kenny last season, no balance in midfield. Rodgers is also starting to make some baffling decisions. I know Lucas hasn't been the same player since injury, but today's game was made for him.
-
He really is a waste of space. Kills every move by dallying on the ball.
-
I'm also surprised Rodgers didn't change something when Gibbs went off. Santos is one of the worst defenders I've ever seen but they were let off the hook by matching downing up against him.
-
I'm not suicidal pal, just putting my point across. On the bright side, Suarez is a complete warrior. Worked his a*** off from first minute to last. What a player.
-
Suarez Reina Carragher Don't understand the love for Henderson. Good goal, but thanks to some of the worst defending you'll ever see. Didn't do much else.
-
This is total rubbish. Our defence is very good. But try defending for 90 minutes with the ball coming back to you all the time because the players in front of you are incapable of keeping the ball. Defending starts from the front.

I thought we were so poor today and extremely lucky to get a draw. This is as poor an Arsenal side as we've seen for years and apart from a spell at the end of the first half, we never looked comfortable. There didn't seem to be any shape to our midfield at all. Its where our problems stem from. Wilshire and cazorla were MILES ahead of our midfield three, we just weren't capable of stringing 3 passes together in the middle of the pitch. Our back 4 did brilliantly today given we had no possession to speak of. Henderson was alright today, no better than that. I don't share the love so many have for him on here. Workmanlike, and this club needs better than him.. But at least he's not as bad as downing. I'm sick of seeing him kill moves by taking too many touches, then being afraid to do anything positive with the ball.

Sterling has been absolutely dreadful so far

The ruthlessness shown in getting rid of Kuyt, Maxi, Bellamy and Carroll was really refreshing. Loads of money shaved off the wage bill to clear space for replacements. Have any of those players done well in their new teams? Unfortunately, we are not Man City or Chelsea, the wage bill is important, and those moves are good for the long term financial health of the team. It was partly short sighted decisions to give huge wages to average players which left the club in such a perilous financial state. -
Sturridge is greedy and clearly a total idiot. The joy of seeing him score would quickly be tempered by that pathetic dance he does to celebrate his goals. It also sounds very odd to me that a player whom Rodgers had sufficient doubts to only want a loan move for in the summer, and who's barely played this season, is now lined up for a permanent move. Here's hoping the rumours are completely wrong
-
Joe Allen certainly isn't the finished article and has big gaps in his game. He could do with adding more goals and is far too weak in the tackle, but like other have said, he's capable of dominating a game. He was brilliant against city at home and I think him and Lucas together will allow us to have a strong central midfield for the first time since 2009. The biggest difference between him and Henderson is that Allen is always showing for the ball and is very comfortable on it, even in very tight spaces. That's a pretty fundamental difference
-
There is some well over the top, unjustified love for Henderson on here, but that opinion will take some beating. Allen is a far superior player. Surely obvious to everyone, isn't it?
-
No chance. You either have heart or you don't.
-
He's not going to make it here. Like downing, he's an absolute pu$$y. We'll do well to get 10m for the pair of them. When Shelvey came on last night for Henderson, the game changed. The only logical solution for either of them playing recently is that its a futile attempt by Rodgers to get them in the shop window. The only problem is that for every game they play, their value is only going further south.
-
You're all wrong, Baker is brilliant

Suarez Johnson Sterling Enrique wasn't terrible, but I'm very surprised how many people think he had a good game. Gave the ball away far too often and also takes far too many touches on the ball. He kills so many moves by his failure to pass the ball quickly.
